Mike Sigel still King of the Hill?

It's a completely clean slate. KOH for last year does not count towards this years KOH.

Mike Sigel still King of the Hill?

Clean Slate IPT 2006 season starts off on a clean slate; whatever was won on the last IPT season ie 2005 does not count towards this years money season. That means everyone starts out equal.

$1500 for the new round of qualifiers!

Only two persons positive about the IPT? Surely whoever said that must be joking. Just because many of us read and rarely get involved in online posts does not mean you can make ridiculous assumptions to back your case. I can make one clear observation from these topics and IPT/KT bashing...

    More good stuff about Kevin...

Having read the reports written about KT, I must say it does make him appear to have made lots of dubious claims in his past, from which he has greatly benefitted financially from. This may also explain the extent of some of the 'over the top' claims we have heard from IPT , a likely carry over...

Why do they keep ALL the qualifier moneys?

I don't claim to be in the know, just an observer like you. The high entry fees and subsequent LOWER turnout at qualifiers seems to be consistent with the IPT objective of only attracting only the players who have a real chance at the tournament to enter. Since you note the high entry fees are...

    IPT abysmal television coverage.

A prediction Interesting, the naysayers and the soothsayers are out in force, which is good. The more controversy pool on tv gets, the more likely people are going to watch it for themselves and take a position. I'm going to venture a guess that the production will exceed 0.35 viewership...

    Go Takami?

Welcome to the rest of the world. Lots of unknowns out there who play great pool. Takami is a strong japanese money player who turned pro some years back.

When did Efren FIRST come to the USA?

And which place would that be? Would be fun to check out that claim :)

Draws for IPT qualifiers done in Chicago !!!!

In general yes, it would be good to have the draw done in front of you, by unbiased persons. I noticed that the IPT did just that when it came to qualifiers that IPT staff were at, but centralised when they weren't. I would suspect that it is precisely that they want to ensure it gets done such...

    IPT Defenders...excuses, excuses...

I would agree with both points 1 & 2. But for 3, I don't think they need to switch revenue models just yet. Much of what they hope to achieve comes in the form of revenue from television and advertising. It's hard to predict whether that'll work, but they do seem to be on the right track...

    please switch shoes...

Yup, that's the potential IPT is probably eyeing. It won't work unless it catches many more eyeballs though. Note that "Idol" is a hit show that just about everyone watches, and that makes it worthwhile for advertisers, even with the 6 zeros :)

The IPT failing and a few are optimistic..

Few optimistic? Seems more like there are far more people who are optimistic than the few who are pessimistic :)

    My take on the IPT

Ah, the insults start to flow just because someone else doesn't agree with you and pointed out your action inconsistencies? Seems consistent with your character Jay. And your state of maturity. Just an observation, don't take it too badly :) I did read the thread. That's why I asked. Precisely...

    My take on the IPT

Let me see now, Jay backed some guy/guys to play in the qualifiers, with the aim of them making it on the IPT and then making some returns off them in prize money for his investment. His guys didn't make it, but did chalk up some money on extra throw-ins that KT put in to make the qualifiers...

    please switch shoes...

It's encouraging to read all of your heartfelt comments, and fair comments they are too. I think this thread is one of the best I've read in here, and I've been reading quite a bit recently. Good going Tammy, I think you sparked off the whole thing with your honest and optimistic (in a good way)...

    Improve the IPT Qualification process?

Last year's picks of the fall were just the start. They tried IMO to pick characters that : 1. filled out their forms in time (clearly they are not going to beg anyone to join their tour). 2. in their opinion (again I say in their opinion, and they are entitled to their opinion when they are...

    Improve the IPT Qualification process?

Agreed jake, he should have no problem qualifying, provided he makes it to one of the venues. I hear it's tough to find sponsorship in some countries to travel the distance. Not disagreeing with you Jake, just clarifying the comments on Wu's game.

    Gorina as the Official Cloth

I think you have made a fair point there, just not sure what the "sensitive" parameter here is. eg if the tables are fast and easier to play on, then the "sensitive" parameter here might be the difficulty of having to stroke the balls firmer and yet pot balls in relatively tight pockets on slow...

    International Pool Tour

Deno, I think you're doing a great job out there for the IPT, despite there being so much sarcasm, destructive criticism and the like from people who should know better. Hang in there, I'm sure your efforts will pay off in time. Question though : Do you think you have sufficient manpower with...

    Buddy Hall position shot

Come on guys. If the cueball has to arrive without any draw, it HAS to be spinning backwards from start point. That's why Buddy jacks up his cue, to get some draw. If he hit the ball without any draw whatsoever at the START, by the time it got to the target, it would be rolling forward and not...
