    Lathe lubricant

Seems I may be doing it different than everyone on here, i was using a little automatic transmission fluid thinned with acetone, about 1 to 1, then wipe it pretty clean.

    Finally finished my taper bar!

That's pretty cool that it would just snap on about any taig based lathe and be ready to go.

That makes my buffer in the bucket look very, very bad. Nice work.

    Laquer thinners

I've never used the ones from the lumber places, always from the autobody stores in the 5 gallon cans and never had one do that. Thanks for the heads up, I'll just continue to avoid the lumber places for thinner, I've used it my whole life growing up in a body shop.

Dumbest question ever asked on AZB....

I went straight to my pool table and tried this, I hate to admit it, but 4 was easy making a diamond shape of them with one pointing with my middle finger. I must be getting bored working from home.

    Cleaning linen phenolic collar

Blow air when cutting, and when it still gets dirty I have had pretty good luck with a Magic Eraser.

    sanding mandrels

Now, referencing the picture above, screw the female one onto the butt section. And show that the shaft did not have the minor bored off of it.

    sanding mandrels

If those would actually work on a standard 3/8-10 I would take them, but I can't for the life of me figure out how the minor would work.

    Motor Controller

Nice, this is something I will consider if/when my plastic one dies again. I do have to mention, I really like the new controller I got from Todd. It has a much slower low speed than my old one and it is really nice and works great. Where did you get the parts to add the linear rails to the...

    Coring question

I did what Joey has said above and have had good results. This might be really obvious, I did check my tailstock with the gun drill bit in place and did have to do some slight tweaking to get it to run completely true with my headstock on that far of a drill. I was using the hightower style...

    changing threads

Possible, I would think yes. Reasonable, well, you may get a lot of answers on that one. I would think no personally, but it may take a bad shooting stick and make it great, not likely though.

    Motor Controller

I did buy a new one, it works great. I have unplugged everything in the shop for the 9 or 10 years that I have worked in it out of fear of a power surge or something like a mouse chewing up something a burning down the building.

    Cut a house cue

I haven't touched the shaft yet, I'll drill it small and try the easy out. Should I just lay my soldering iron on the easy out or what is the potential best way to get it hot but not too hot? If i mess it up I'll build a new shaft, it's not a huge deal since the shaft is a little warped anyway...
