    Pro one/CTE is hard

I realize that many people cannot get to Stan for a personal lesson. However for those of us who have taken the lesson, who have spent the time required practicing the lessons and shots displayed, and have taken the time necessary to grasp how the system works, we know CTE/Pro One works and are...

    Old Man Cheated

After hearing both sides of the story, I have to agree with what Megan did asking the gentleman to replay. This would have beeen settled more professionally if she stopped their match while she looked up his information but that can't be helped now. Asking him to replay a match was wrong...

Stan Shuffett demo: Banking and 9 ball

I would have to agree. Whether people use pivot, sweet, inside/outside...it takes me a while to interpret what they mean. I'm strictly Pro One. Visual sweeps are quite clear to me. Probably using the wrong side of my brain. Great vids. Looking forward to the new dvd.

    Learning CTE

Pro One Aiming If you have a straight shot down the rail, how do you place your aiming leg on the shot line and make this shot? You would be aiming into the rail. Pro One isn't difficult to learn, it just takes time and a willingness to adapt. Pro One is truly a center pocket system. Put...

    Crazy Infuriating Experience

I played in a local tourney 3 wknds ago and director asked me my rating. I'm a new 8-ball player w/ a 3 skill level. He says he'll keep me in at that level. So, during matches I play my usual game. Take shots that I know I can make. If I am uncertain, I play safe. So, during one match...

    APA skill ranking?

How do I know what my rating is if I've never played apa 9 ball? The reason I ask is b/c I played in a local tourney 3 wknds ago and director asked me my rating. I'm a new 8-ball player w/ a 3 skill level. He says he'll keep me in at that level. So, during matches I play my usual game. Take...

Lessons ! Just get some lessons !!

On the note of lessons...how does one move beyond that? How do I find a coach? Someone who is willing to help me reach my personal goal rather than just show me how to stand and hold a cue? Billiards is more than just cueing, you have pressure situations and learning ways of dealing with...

Lessons ! Just get some lessons !!

I believe that most people starting out or even average players don't know where to go for coaching. I asked one of the shooters in a local bar to help me work on my banking. Sure he says. Just watch me...$80 bucks to watch some guy make bank shots while not explaining english, speed...

    Got Cheated In Olathe

The man got cheated. Afterwards, he supposedly drunk a little and supposedly got a little out of hand. Whatever...Who cares??? That's not the point here. During the match he got shafted by a bad call. The ball might have hit the 5 ball due to a 6" rule? WTF?? Anyone would be upset after a...

On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

I'm bummed! I just moved from KC to Charlotte. Good luck at Side Pockets. If you can't find action there, definitely head to Shooters in Olathe. You can't help but find a game there. #$^ Jr. National Champs...kid gives me a 7-3 race in 8 ball. How can I say no. After 2 sets I was sick to...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

I'm not going to get in a shouting match with you. Yes, you pay a monthly amount. And yes, I do have friends who live in Taiwan. So, are we good.

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

I don't understand why everyone is crying about playing a tough opponent. It was an open event. Taiwan (unlike the States) has numerous pool schools where you pay a monthly stipend to learn the game. They just don't go to a bar and hope to get better. Some are even ranked within their...

    Charlotte, NC

I recently moved to charlotte. I've played at a few bars around here. With limited knowledge, I can state that the Green Room off South Blvd always has players in there. Whether you game is one pocket or whatever.

CTE/Pro One - Why Not Build a Physical Model?

Thanks for the input. I would agree that one on one instruction would be greatly beneficial to work on 'my' issues and would provide the instructor more time to help me establish the flaws with my fundamentals and ways to correct them.

CTE/Pro One - Why Not Build a Physical Model?

I could use some helpful criticism from everyone here. I have an opp to take lessons from either stan shuffett (individual lessons) or tim simpson(pool school). After 7 years of playing I'm transitioning to 9' tables from bar boxes. Yeah, long distance shots suck and I'm finding flaws in my...
