    Slow play by pros

Talking about two completely different things. Winning vs watching. Very few have "automatic talent" to play fast and win, especially at the amateur level.

    Lambros Contact?

If you can connect with him you deserve the pool gold medal. I had one of his cues and tried for months to reach him. good luck.

Are Gold Crown Tables Still Being "Diamondized?"

GC cushions can be changed but not the pocket shelves. Diamond shelves are deeper. And the height and shape of the rails are different. I tried it. It's a GC3 with Diamond rails :-) If you want a Diamond buy a Diamond.

poorly made cue that plays well ?

Almost no correlation between how much a cue costs or how "well made" it is and how well it will play, IMO.

    Win the Flip

In 8 ball, amateur players break and make a ball much less than 50% of the time. So winning the flip, if winner must break, is loosing the flip.

    Heart rate data during play....

I noticed my HR at 120 just sitting during a match. I solved the problem, stopped wearing the Apple watch. Timex for me :-)

Tipping tournament directors - do you tip on calcutta amount as well?

If tipping the tournament director carries the implication you will be treated better, or worse if you don't tip, in Chicago we call that a "shake down"

    Heyball big money tourney

I played Chinese 8 ball at Hustler's in Bangkok. I LOVED it. If you prefer 9 ft tables over 7 ft, then I think you would love Chinese 8 ball tables. If SVB didn't like it, he might not have liked getting shellacked by a 20 year old Chinese kid and not getting cheese..

Are Corey and Melling the 2 best at dissecting an 8 ball rack ever?

How much money does Gareth Potts make playing Heyball/Chinese 8 ball? If the rest of these guys were so good they would be playing Heyball for the big $$$, or so it would seem. Like pro snooker, where the real money is, American plays have tried and can't make the pro tour.

    T.O.I by randyg

I've been working with TOI for a few weeks and realize it's super important to accelerate through the cue ball. I believe it helps "push" the cue ball over to facilitate the cue. I'm only in the learning phase so I could be wrong.

Cue advice for a new player

Cuetec Avid or a Schmelke sneaky. Both play way better than they cost. If you have warp problems, Cuetec is a no brainer.

Are the new Tariffs on Goods from China going to affect prices on Pool cues?

They don't want to "destroy our way of life" they want to sell us toaster and shoes and tv's and everything in Walmart or Costco or any discount mall in America. The last thing they want to do is stop us as "buyers"

Are Gold Crowns Still Being "Diamondized?"

I put Diamond rails on my GC3, it still has pocket shelves that are not as deep as a Diamond, no way to change that easily. It does NOT play like a Diamond. If you want a table to play like a Diamond buy a Diamond.

Are the new Tariffs on Goods from China going to affect prices on Pool cues?

I think $50,000 USD a year might be optimistic I looked it up and found : China's official minimum wage in 2025 ranges from 1,690 to 2,690 yuan per month, equivalent to 235 to 375 U.S. dollars China's National Bureau of Statistics and MHRSS, the average salary in China in 2025 (in urban areas)...
