    Funny pic/gif thread...

I think I will stick with Suicidal Tendencies version. They are way under rated. Not for everybody.

    Truman Hogue has passed

Truman was a staple at the old Bank Shot that used to be down on Preston there in Louisville. He was always out at Bryan Roberts place, Rack 66. I always jokingly gave him hell and he always returned it with a laugh and a smile. He had a story if you had the time to listen. I nicknamed him the...

Which is BEST cuecase? Whitten? Laara? Phi eastwood? Rusty Melton? Jill Hawk? Or?

One you dont see mentioned very often is Swift. I really like the one I had him build me. Not the fanciest but it protects the cue and looks good doing it.

Are Gold Crowns Still Being "Diamondized?"

Diamond is the greatest mediocre table on the planet. Leave those Gold Crowns alone.

    The Art of One Pocket

https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/the-art-of-one-pocket-by-steve-booth.563415/ Well I finally had time to do my review. I really liked the book overall and would recommend it. I added a link above to my review. I tried to keep it short and concise but if you have any questions please feel...

The Art of One Pocket by Steve Booth

The traps and escapes section should be very useful for a beginner to mid level player. While some of the moves take a lot of practice and letting the cue ball loose, Steve also touches on subtle moves where you barely move the cue ball that beginning players may not realize. When teaching the...

The Art of One Pocket by Steve Booth

So I had the chance to read the book “The Art of One Pocket” by Steve Booth over the winter and I have to say I am fairly impressed. A little about me. I have been playing since a teenager but once I got into my 40’s it became all about one pocket and also giving back To other players. I play...

    Gilbert cues

Gilbert makes an excellent cue. If you can get one of his SS jointed cues I would highly recommend it. His fit and finish is also excellent and if you want one built, my dealing with them was top notch.

Which major tournament would you choose if you could only attend one per year?

Since I live here and attend Derby every year, I too would prefer Buffalos 1 pocket tournament.

    The Art of One Pocket

Well between work being a bear and the start of deer season (should have taken the book to the field to have something to look at since the deer didn’t show up), I have managed the beginning and the first 2 chapters. A couple of things I want to note so far: 1. Steve calls out some other books...

    The Art of One Pocket

Great offerings. I am still researching and the reviews all seem to be good. If chosen I will definitely do a review on it and post my thoughts.

    The Art of One Pocket

Looking for some new reading and was considering The Art Of One Pocket by Booth. My question, is it worth the $70 asking price? Yes? No? Thoughts? I have A Game of Controlled Agression by Wirth and of course the 2 Holy Grails Winning One Pocket and Shots Moves and Strategies.

What Do You Look For in a Pool Instructor

Wish I knew then what I know now. I wish I had found someone less pushy and not just trying to fill their agenda with clients. While the guy I used was nice, informed and came with a national accreditation, he was not for me. I think if I had spent more time talking to him instead of quickly...

    SVB v Orcollo

No it has been changed. Last time they played (less than a year ago) they were not playing by these rules. The only odd rule was rotate the break.

    SVB v Orcollo

The rules suck, not a fan of this. The funny thing is the last time they went hill-hill with SVB squeaking out a win so not sure why this rule set was necessary.

Benefits of joining an APA league?

I played it for years but I did so because I liked to teach and help the lower players on my team. But APA in itself is a terrible program with garbage rules, payouts, tournaments and travel expenses. If you aren't into meeting people and having some social interaction, then as said maybe do a...

    Non-Layered Tips

I had a bunch I put away that I pressed myself. They are just a touch harder than original but they don't mushroom like a non pressed one. Then I switched to carbon fiber and don't use them anymore but they were great on my old Schon cues before the switch. As far as a good one? I look at the...

    Mika V De Luna Controversy....

I watched it live and Mika was in the right in my opinion. It's also not the first time either has been in the middle of controversy but I hear DeLuna name come up way more often in that area.
