    About this Cue...

I am almost positive that is the same cue he had on display at the open a few years back, thought about buying it. Snakewood, Ebony and Ivory will be my next cue combo. This cue is beautiful. I did hold it, examined closely, I did not hit a ball with it. What I mean by point work being...

    About this Cue...

I have seen this cue in person on display at the US open, pretty combination of woods and colors. The Snake wood and Ebony are gorgeous together. The point work is ROUGH on the cue though,

    LD shaft for breaking cue

I have done exactly what you are thinking about doing. I put phenolic on a Predator and put it on the my break cue. Breaks like a sledgehammer. I have a designated jump cue ( James Hanshew ) AWESOME jumper. On my regular play cue, I use a maple shaft, no LD for me.

A guy walks into a bar

I hire beauty not brains, LOVE IT!!! I shoot in the room Donny speaks of, and I agree with the owner (who has a great eye for talent). If I want a game, I will find my own, I do not need the bar maid to help me. The room is Main Street Billiards in downtown Gainesville, Fl. and the bar maids...

    Cloth color

Being a bit of a traditionalist I have Green 860 and Centennials at home on my GC. I do not mind playing on the blue. My observation in my home pool room that switched from green to blue. The Blue does not WEAR as well as the Green. the blue seems to show everything faster than the green...

    What Cue to Purchase?

A question I have asked myself, i see and hear a pretty good deal of praise about Gilbert cues.. Scotty Townsend, if I remember correctly,is cousins with Andy Gilbert, yet, he does not shoot with a Gilbert. So I can not help but wonder why? Hit, Feel????

pool's greatest one liners & quotes

I'm sweating a couple action matches one night in Tallahassee. Scottie Townsend is one of the matches. In the other match, I don't remember who it was, One of the guys is getting the brakes beat off him. While on a break between sets the guy getting drilled in the other match starts telling...

How much does pressure affect the pro's

Pressure, is related to confidence and performance, knowing how to win and an edge of cockiness are all related. Most all great champions in any sport have "it", cocky confidence. Liken back to Tiger in his Prime. He knew he could hit the key shot or putt while the challengers were all...

How do you deal with undesirable people?

Creedo, makes some very good points, very different perspective, yes you want to be left to practice what you are working on with your instructor. A large part of improving in pool is knowledge above and beyond the mechanics. As you progress with your game, when people offer their input you...

    Brunswick Centennials

Great Price That is the lowest I have seen them for Brand New, from a supplier. They are certainly well worth it at that price.

    Slight Cracking Sound

I would guess that the cue is pretty new???, The cracking sound is pretty normal so to speak, It is a result more from Friction rather than a Crack. It just means you have a nice tight fit where the joint pin screws into the shaft. Over time it will loosen up a slight bit and should go away...

Where can I buy Aramith tournament balls in the Chicago suburbs

I started off with a set of Centennials on my home table. I bought the Tournament Aramith's at the US Open. I no longer use the Centennials.

    Break tip shape

For what it's worth, My break cue with phenolic is a dime radius. My jump cue ( James Hanshew) is a nickel radius. That is the way it came from Hanshew. I am very happy the radius set up I have on both of those cues. I also keep my play cue at a dime radius, shaft is at 12.6

    Kamui Gator Grip?

IMHO, I would get a Willards, get the dime or nickel depending on the size you prefer. It maintains the crown/shape of the tip. The grinding/sanding surfaces appear to be very similar. With the Gator Grip I could see over a period of time that you could get your tip out of shape. The Willards...

    Lomax or Hanshew

I was also in the market about 2 years ago, Funny thing I had narrowed my choice down to the same, Lomax and Hanshew. I ended up winning the Hanshew in a raffle on one of Big Trucks streams. The Hanshew is a FANTASTIC jump cue. It is a very versatile jump cue. You are able to do ALL possible...
