    Another Cueball Training Device/Product!!

You’d never see me do this with one of my original maple shafts or the Kielwood ones I’ve purchased. It’s fine with carbon fiber shafts but what I just viewed is a reason I’d never use this product. My shafts are pristine and I work way too hard to keep it that way to be using the shaft like in...

    Another Cueball Training Device/Product!!

Gosh, has anyone tried Pro Pocket Reducers on a Diamond 9’ table with 4.25” CP openings? I do it a couple times a month and boy, after about 30 mins of practice, I remove the reducers. I practice straight shots, curt shots, bank shots and the most critical factor is object ball speed. And I...

    Another Cueball Training Device/Product!!

IMO, a poorly conceived product. So when the balls don’t go thru, does it move or get knocked over? I bought Pro Pocket reducers years ago. IMO, it performs better than this gadget on compelling you to shoot straight. You can install them just on the corner pockets and practice shooting from...

    Custom CleanGleem Ball Cleaner

This ball cleaner is attractively priced to buy right now……indulge yourself and you won’t regret it. Anyone with a pool table deserves a ball cleaner and a nice set of pool balls. You’ll replace the pool balls over the years for various reasons but this ball cleaner should likely never have to...

    Better Act Fast……Public Service Announcement

Nice to know but has anyone translated Euro dollars to U.S. currency inclusive of any tariff expense. Then figure what the heck the shipping cost is from Germany and better use PayPal for protection, not meaning to imply the seller isn’t reliable. I’m referring to potential delivery problems &...

Another stupid thread from me: golf is harder than pool

Deion Sanders…..who was a pretty good multi-sport athlete said that he couldn’t understand why golf was the hardest sport he ever attempted. The ball just sits there on a tee, motionless with no defenders to avoid or guess what pitch is coming next. The ball just sits there looking at you saying...

Another stupid thread from me: golf is harder than pool

To set the records straight he shot 91 on the North Course but it changed when he played the South Course to 114. But he hits the ball so hard and goes so far with all the clubs, he has potential to become good. But the boy, even though he’s a adult man but still my son, can’t putt. No sense of...

Another stupid thread from me: golf is harder than pool

Here is the bottomline, although some pool players might argue differently. It’s not only unfair but also distorted thinking that attempts to correlate and compare playing golf versus playing pool. Admittedly, pool requires tremendous skills to become highly skilled and many hours of practice...

My TAOM V10 Blue chalk goes to 11..

The measle cue ball is played for 4-5 hrs with my friends & never needs cleaning since most of the players I know use TAOM V10 or Pagulayan Green chalk. The table cloth remains clean. It’s been this way since Sierra Billiards & Bar opened a few years ago. I can only presume it’s not the TAOM...

Another stupid thread from me: golf is harder than pool

Mark Twain is attributed to describing golf rather aptly. “Golf is a good walk spoiled.” Some people prefer to substitute “ruined” for spoiled. Regardless, I always made it a point to carry lots of business cards playing golf. I’d pass them out to golfers when I asked if they happened to spot...

    Automatic Shot Clock

I think we are splitting hairs over something that isn’t being used. Your 30 seconds should start when the incoming player is at the table, It should conclude once he strikes the cue ball. Any time involved walking to the table to start your inning or returning to your seat after missing a...

    Automatic Shot Clock

Personally, the chess clock approach works when you are seated at a table playing chess and you can reach it in less than a second to start your opponent’s clock. It doesn’t matter if you are playing rapid transit or tournament chess. You can make your move and start your opponent’s clock in...

    Automatic Shot Clock

It likely would be how fast and easy is it to see? If you were at the foot rail on a 9’ pool table foot looking back toward where your opponent is sitting behind the head rail and the clock counting down to 30 secs, do you think it’s easy to see how much time is left while it is counting down...

    Playing Pool after 50?

Can you recite something within the geographical borders of the USA? And if anyone was really worried about this happening in your locale, get off your ass and apply for your CCW, presuming it is even needed in your state to pack. If there was exploding pool balls being used by terrorists in...

    Automatic Shot Clock

So it’s not a shot clock but a match clock like in chess. It doesn’t do much to improve slow play in pool. A shot clock has to be visible to the competitors; a total time clock does nothing to improve pace of play.

    Automatic Shot Clock

Thanks…..we’ve tried this but it really is like keeping score in APA which means it really doesn’t fit the bill. And it isn’t easily visible which is really a prerequisite for any shot clock. Some day there will be shot clocks.

    Playing Pool after 50?

I’m a Yankee Doodle baby and turn 80 coinciding with the 250th celebration on July 4th. I was playing pool at Ames with my step-dad a week after we saw The Hustler. Imagine, a pool hall in Times Square where the New Year’s Ball drops. My mom worked a couple blocks away at The New York Times. I...

    Playing Pool after 50?

No, I can’t…..I cannot recall any pool player losing a limb nor eaten alive because he had a bad day playing pool. If you want to say life doesn’t end because we get older, fine. But there’s no comparison of swimming with sharks and playing pool for even high stakes gambling. Pool is pretty risk...

    Automatic Shot Clock

Bob, I would but I haven’t found any that fits the bill. It has to be easily visible from 12-14 away for a 9’ table player and chess clocks and the like don’t fit the bill. Gosh, I would have thought APA and BCA would have adopted this by now which would have sparked demand to build a shot clock...
