This picture is of 3/8x10 and a 3/8x11 taps beside a Uni-loc pin. My only question is which one lines up?

Yes the black fiber liner went all the way thru the red fiber pad and I used it as the tenon for the ferrule. I don't remember if the core was wood or plastic. If I had to guess I would say it was wood.

Done I went ahead and just replaced the ferrule. Turned it down to match the shaft and it will be good till he busts it again! Thanks for the help, great input.

Yup So I'm pretty sure this is caused by improper chalking. I'm posting a pic, it's as clear as I can get it. I think I'm going to put a original sized ferrule and just turn the whole thing uniform. Thanks for the feedback, great info.

I have a G-core shaft with a cracked ferrule. With the way the guy chalks the cue he has worn the shaft behind the ferrule. Can I put a longer ferrule on or do I need to replace it with the same length?

Elk is ok but only a few inches from the tip is usable. The antler has a porous center. For thicker larger pieces try some moose antler.

So I have a customer that can't screw his new shaft on his McDermott cue. He was told it was a McDermott shaft. Suppose to be a 3/8-10 radial. I measured the pin on the butt and as close as I can tell it's a 3/8-9 radial. So... can I find a tap for this cause he ruined the shaft by screwing it...

Pins I don't know, they all came from Atlas.

I have two of the Atlas radial pin taps and one is clearly written on the side "Undersize". The problem I am having is the "normal" tap is too tight with a brass radial pin. Are the brass pins larger? Thanks
