Used a Kaiser butt with a 314/2 shaft for a while waiting to get my Richard Neighbours butt back. Played well with it. Not as great as a high quality cue but had response and feel. That experience showed me that the shaft and butt hold equal importance to getting the right feel from the cue.

I do disagree humbly. Earl can only beat who is in front of him as could any other great players of the past. Earl raised the bar very very high. He was the best in his time as is SVB now (or at least one of the very very best!).
