Any good one eyed pool players?

Neils Feijen, for all practical purposes. he's 85% blind in one eye. more generally, keen eyesight is greatly overrated and used as an excuse for bad play which has nothing to do with it. for example, Thorsten Hohmann sometimes plays tournaments without his contact lenses, and Mark Williams has...

Just started a YouTube channel about Russian pyramid with English commentary!

very interested, and enjoy your commentary greatly! but Please ditch the music. couldn't finish the first video because it was so obnoxious. even in the 2nd video, it was too loud and distracting. it just doesn't add anything -- your subject is interesting enough!

The road to recovery day 1

Welder84 has it right: it has close to zero to do with age. or eyesight. Niels Feijen is 85% blind in one eye. Thorsten Hohmann plays major tournaments without his contact lenses sometimes. Mark Williams wins snooker championships with hundreds of thousand of dollars on the line, you can see...

Have you witnessed shots that you would not believe unless seen in person or on video

this doesn't Sound dramatic, and it doesn't Look dramatic like a movie shot, but go ahead, try it. about 10 years ago i walked into an unfamiliar room to play some straight pool. usually that brings mostly blank stares, an occasional nod, and a lot of ignorant guffaws from people who think i...

no, if you actually had the book i'm talking about, then you'd know that you DO see it being done on the dvd. for ~ 2 hours. nothing else but the last 4 balls. dozens of different players, a hundred patterns. it's the best resource in pool by a very wide margin.

    Acoustic wall drapes/16x20 room

as i said above, this used to be my day job. i'm a sound engineer, pool table owner, and have done what you're trying to do in multiple rooms. round bamboo isn't going to do squat for the noise you want to reduce. putting flat sheets behind it isn't going to do much more (although it will do...

    Acoustic wall drapes/16x20 room

retired sound engineer here: i've done this quick & dirty with mover's blankets that i had lying around. they do kill a lot of the most objectionable noise. i put them up when i had my table in a cement block walled room and they made a huge difference. very easy to put up, especially if you...

i've got 2 scientific degrees and understand the theory behind milk duds. i also don't believe it has any effect in real life. i just stick them in a vise for a few days with no particular attention to how hard i press them, just torque them a bit more after a day. they beat the living snot...

Clean Gleem, a new kind of ball cleaning machine

as someone who ran a business for 20+ years, i'm not seeing your value proposition here. kickstarter aside, you're coming in at about the same price as the several existing machines on the market, all of which work fine, with a device that has not withstood the test of time. what sets yours...

LIVE STREAM: US Open Bank Pool, Straight Pool & One Pocket, May 24-June 1

love the video -- TOP QUALITY! but who are these guys commentating on the SVB/Kiamco match? they repeated all day yesterday that Warren knows nothing about 14.1, and has "probably not played it much" and now today claimed "we had to explain the rules to him" (which they did for hours yesterday...

Exactly What are the Reasons Pool gets Tougher as you Age?

one thing it's Not about is eyesight. Neils Feijen is essentially blind in his left eye. Thorsten Hohmann sometimes plays tournament matches without his contacts in.
