Has anyone tried Heat Lock veneer glue?

Hubler did this with their jump break cue to beak it down to a jump cue. Worked ok, but you had line up a dot on both halves of the handle to put it back together correctly.

Anyone using phenolic inserts for 5/16ths, 3/8th 10 or 11 joints? I am curious as to how they holdup compared to brass or wood for the latter.
