    TAR on android??

Chrome... Google chrome has flash support built in. If you download it from the play store, it should work. This may only apply to the computer browser, not 100% sure.

    Centre ball is my preference

I'm with ya... I use center on most shots. Not exact center, but to be exact, along the center, vertical axis. In my short, few years of experience, rarely do I encounter a set up (getting from one shot to the next) that isn't possible with center ball. It just seems to be an issue of how much...

    Share your "Light Bulb" stories

My first Aha! moment.... Occurred when I tightened up my bridge hand and leaned on it more. I had read here on AZB about someone mentioning their fingers and hand would be cramped the next day from playing. This got me to thinking, and the next time I went to the table, I made sure to use a...

    Russian Pyramid

Does anyone know? Why they are hitting the balls so hard? Is that to help pocket the balls, or to ensure they are not just left sitting there in case they miss?

    The answer might be WPT?

Yes, I'd have to get very luck to place at the bottom, in a field full of pros, and mostly pros. That's why I don't enter tournaments now. But we're discussing something different, I think. Something new. In a format similar to the WPT, there would be more placing spots than there would be pros...

    The answer might be WPT?

Maybe...but.... I think it would depend on the numbers. I have practically zero chance of beating a top pro (or several at that) for a tournament win, but with the kind of payouts seen in the WPT, I'd be happy placing last and still walking away with a nice chunk of change. In the current...

    Stop shot from the rail?

Hey all, A buddy of mine picked up a copy of Pro Skill Drills volume by Dominic Esposito. The first drill is a series of progressive practice drills focused on stop shots. The last tier is to shoot a stop shot with the OB lined up with the side pocket, and the CB on the short rail. Can anyone...

Host A Pro (Pool Player) On The Road

No facebook, but.... I'm fortunate enough that my job allows me to telecommute. With a 4G hotspot and an extended battery, I can be anywhere, anytime, and work a full shift. For some time now, I've been kicking around the idea of finding a road player, and splitting expenses while travelling. I...

What I think would finally grow pool. (BCAPL/Pro/8-ball connection)

Possibly.... This is true, in the current scenario. But, with the potential gains being discussed, it changes both animals. I believe if there were a more tangible reward involved, the goals will shift. It no longer becomes just a social past time, but a chance to earn a decent payout, if not...

Iphone & IPad - Watching streaming such as TAR PPV's. Feedback & Testers needed

As an alternative to Adobe's media server, you may want to look into Red5 media server. It supports streaming in MP3 format, so that covers IOS devices. And I'm not sure about your hosting environment, but toss this on an additional server, and you would only be paying for bandwidth and the cost...

    Quote for table move/setup

Hello all, I am looking to purchase a used table early to mid January. Assuming the table I have in mind is in good condition and I end up purchasing it, I would need it moved 290 - 300 miles then setup/installed. So a few questions... 1. What should I look/check for when inspecting the table...

    HD Webcam or HD camcorder?

Some else may be interested... I went ahead and purchased this HD mini camcorder: http://www.buy.com/prod/flip-video-minohd-120-minutes-camcorder-bundle-brushed-metal-includes/220630428.html I particularly like the fact they point out low light shooting as being of good quality. A more...

    Tips of english or stroke?

Correct me if I'm wrong... But I recall reading that a "tip of english" is the size of the contact patch, the area of the cue tip that contacts the CB. And the contact patch remains the same, regardless of actual tip diameter, due to the curvature of the CB. If no one can validate this off the...

I've been looking as well.... Would you be so kind as to post a review of the device after you've had a chance to use it?

Do you look at the cue ball or object ball when shooting?

Works for me... Intuitively, that "feels" wrong, but I'm sure if I were a Pro, it would feel just right. That seems to be the general consensus amongst the knowledgeable people I've talked to, so that's what I'll be practicing.

Do you look at the cue ball or object ball when shooting?

True... But delivering the CB to a precise location is only half the battle. Accurately hitting the CB to apply the precise amount of spin comes into play as well. Am I just over-estimating the amount of precision needed? Is that something that takes care of itself with a repeatable stroke?

Do you look at the cue ball or object ball when shooting?

I'm not so sure... When throwing a spear, you look at your target. In martial arts, you look at your target. But the target isn't the OB, its the cue ball you're actually hitting. It seems to me, if I'm looking at the contact point on the OB last, which if at an angle from my line of aim...

Can A- players and above do the following test?

I'd have to say yes I can do it. This is part of my warmup drills before I even rack a game. And by consistently, I mean 6-7 times out of 10. But I would not consider my self an A- player by any means. Maybe a C+ - B+ player.
