BUTTERFLY EFFECT CHALLENGE - fullsplice cue for donation

I had sorta forgotten about this when a long skinny package showed up on my doorstep today. Remembered as soon as I saw it was from Ukraine. The cue is absolutely beautiful, Anton does great work. Can't wait to hit some balls with it.

Proposed rules for tournament slow play in One Pocket and Banks

I would advocate for a delay rather than added time, to prevent manipulation adding to a players time as you mentioned. But really, either would work and be appropriate.

Proposed rules for tournament slow play in One Pocket and Banks

Assuming the 3 foul rule is in place, the player with 0 would still need to make a legal hit, and not sell out a ball. I think you're underestimating how difficult it would be be truly manipulate the clock in the vast majority of 1P games. And a more complex time control would also resolve...

Proposed rules for tournament slow play in One Pocket and Banks

The one second player should lose because they managed their time slightly less efficiently, and somebody needs to lose in order for the match and tournament to progress. They had the same amount of time at the table as the 2 second player. While shooting spot shots is certainly a useful skill...

    31" Healing Carbon Shaft

No, a 5/16x14 butt will not work. You need a butt with a Uniloc pin to fit it. You also need to be careful because OK Healing also sells a slightly different pin that looks like a Uniloc, but isn't quite the same, and only fits their own off-branded Uniloc style butts. I've seen these on...

Proposed rules for tournament slow play in One Pocket and Banks

That's the beauty of using a chess clock. Each player gets the same amount of time for all of their innings. Play slow, your clock gets low, and you either need to start playing fast or lose the game on time. Only the slow player gets punished. I think a chess clock is a much better...

Proposed rules for tournament slow play in One Pocket and Banks

As mentioned earlier, chess clocks. Most people probably aren't very familiar with how they work, but there are a whole bunch of time controls using chess clocks that are both fair and make sure that these players are forced to either play at a more normal pace or lose the match. A basic time...

Proposed rules for tournament slow play in One Pocket and Banks

I played chess competitively long before finding cue sports. I've always thought that cue sports could be greatly improved by implementing an Elo type ratings system like the one used for chess (which we now have with Fargo), and chess clocks.

Proposed rules for tournament slow play in One Pocket and Banks

Most 1P tournaments these days have a couple of rules to speed up play, which seem to work relatively well for the most part. Those rules being fouls cancelling out until at least one player no longer owes any balls, and some form of the Grady rule implemented after the match reaches a specific...

    What is your HIGH RUN?

Man, sure seems to be a lot of short stop or better players posting in this thread. Uncanny, really. Pretty sure my high run for break and runs is zero, but my memory is a bit hazy, so I could be off slightly. Now, who wants to give me the orange crush? I'll also take 11-5 in one pocket...

One Pocket scratch on break rules?

I remember that one pretty well. I think it was 1999 or 2000, and he shot the break from the same side as his pocket, hitting the 2nd ball pretty square. I know the first game of that match Corey won the lag and would have left Shannon straight in after the break, but a couple balls were...

    Rhino's new offerings.

They have a new line they're calling the "G-w Series" which has a "Premium Glass Fiber" shaft and composite butt, which is what I'm pretty sure OP is referring to: https://rhino-billiards.com/collections/g-w-series

I've been away for a while, but I seem to recall the trolls on this site being much more likeable. Speaking of, anybody heard from Mr Travis Trotter lately?

They did open registration last week after failing to fill the field. Was a bit too late for most people who might have otherwise been interested though.

Top cities for league level play?

Could be a challenge, I know when I searched names of better players I used to play in AZ about half of them just showed "AZ" as the location without a city. And even the players who did have a city listed, it was often a suburb rather than the main city, for example Scott Frost is listed under...

OB falls into pocket while CB is in transit to hit it, Is this a foul?

I've seen it happen a couple times. Bound to happen at least once if you play enough one pocket where balls are often left hanging at the edge of a pocket.

    AZB Participation

The site was started in Arizona (still not sure if the AZ originally stood for Arizona), and the very early demographics were mostly people from the Southwestern US, but it quickly spread to the rest of the US. I've been away for about 15 years, so not sure about the current demographics.

In case my note with the donation wasn't clear, I only want one cue, so hopefully that means more money to the jar.
