Proficient Billiards Cue Repair - Great Service

He has at least one assistant. A friend drove up a couple years ago and had some work done on a cue. Having said that, Scot is amazing and can do whatever you need for a cue.

    Teddy Bear Palmer

I thought so. Great looking cue nonetheless, somebody went to a lot of effort on that cue.

    Teddy Bear Palmer

Beautiful cue. I assume second catalog, Model D? One thing, that's a strange green veneer for a Titlist blank. To my knowledge, they were sort of an aqua green rather than what looks like a forest green on this cue. Any background on that?

Vintage Photo from 1983 Dayton Open

I guess that was the jeweled Crown then. That was an early age to be playing such a valuable cue. Rempe himself in a televised match said it was worth ten grand. I assume Eric still owns the cue, but not sure.

That's my memory as well. Believe the fancy one played by Rempe was made about 1984.

For the sharp-eyed, is Jim Rempe holding his famous jewel-inlaid Meucci Crown cue? My impression was that it was built sometime in the 80s, could have been that early.

Were TAD-1 Tigerwoods big pin common?

Probably more than 2 or 3 out of 100 average, but definitely not as plentiful as 14 thread pin with steel joint.

What kind/brand of Mechanics Level to level a Pool Table

After you use every level device possible, make a habit of rolling balls lengthwise and widthwise on the table, especially with carpet. Minimal adjustments sometimes have to be made.

    New stick

Nice old school window design. A lot of way older Joss cues have a similar look. Good choice.

What is the best ferrule material

I think Melamine is one of the best, if you're not looking for low mass. It can have the shade of ivory, even a grain look. Also a great hit. It's pretty hard to get the old Micarta these days, so if you're not looking for a low deflection formula, Melamine is it.

It's difficult. Given the design, I think it's a garage project.

More cue forensics - Wimpy Lassiter

Anybody have an autograph of Lassiter's with the name Wimpy to compare? Some of the signatures above look like deeper engravings rather than just a written signature. Interesting cue though.
