Is there any footage of ''champagne'' Ed Kelly?

Sadly, there's not much footage of Ed Kelly. Here's a bit of nostalgia though. Grady Matthews and other one pocket players are inducting Ed Kelly into the one pocket hall of fame.

Can you straighten a warped shaft?.....Manwon can!

The best you can do is store your cues and shafts in a case, standing upright. Other than that, most warped shafts cannot be straightened. There are some methods that may seem to do some good, but in the end, the wood is warped, and will continue to that warped shape. It's a natural material...

Questions on a Tim Scruggs SP please. ( Age and value?)

Yep, could be. Or any number of bumpers that you can pick up on Mueller, or Prather, for example.

Questions on a Tim Scruggs SP please. ( Age and value?)

There are threads you can search on to follow the TS logo, as they did vary depending on the time period. I would be more concerned by that bumper on the cue you have. Tim did not do big crude screw-on bumpers like that.

Questions on a Tim Scruggs SP please. ( Age and value?)

The main makers of Scruggs sneaky petes were Bob Frey, and John Slovotnik later on, when Bob went on his own, and Mike Chochran partnered with Tim. Very good cues, a lot of tournament players used them. But correct, Tim had his hands on very few of them.

Cleaning Balls - Machine vs Hand

I'm not surprised by that. Those abrasive ball cleaners, they look good at first glance. Then, you look at the flaws they leave.

Cleaning Balls - Machine vs Hand

No. It's holding a ball in your hands and wiping it with good pressure with a wringed-out paper towel. Not laying anything flat against the table. To be clear, I have nothing against motorized ball cleaners, but I don't use them. Over time, I have to think daily cleanings with a ball cleaner...

Cleaning Balls - Machine vs Hand

Good video, and I think you answered your question. I don't think Aramith would release the exact ingredients, but I suspect their ball cleaner may contain a little synthetic sealant, as you don't want wax on billiard balls.

Cleaning Balls - Machine vs Hand

Nothing left on the table. Plus, I don't clean them right over the table.

Cleaning Balls - Machine vs Hand

You can do it by hand. I would take the time to clean the table first, with damp paper towels, or a clean washcloth. Afterwards, wipe the balls with a couple damp paper towels. You'll hear opinions that say a motorized ball cleaner is the way to go, but I don't think so. Over time, dirt and...

    McDermott C-14

Very nice. I have a McDermott D series cue. I think the C and D versions may have been their best.

    Cue ID

Purple outer veneer eliminates about 1990 or so. Other than that, it looks like Joss was playing around with a design. But I don't think it's a Joss. Someone had that purple veneer much after 1990. Could have been anyone after that. Nice cue by the way. Not a garage project.

    Identify cue

In fact, with some modification in wrap and joint, it looks like a number of Burton Spain cues, especially his number 3 in his first picture.

    Identify cue

That was going to be my guess as well, with the shaft pin in the shaft portion. He was known to do some cues with black buttplates, I believe.

    Closet queen.

Good to see there's still some queens in you. I have quite a few in the closet as well, as one by Gairth. Mine is a 1X2, envelope style, old school.

    Flat faced 5/16x14 shaft question?

And, there are variations. The Black 5/16 X 14 was a bit thicker than the Joss or Scruggs 14 thread pin. And Stroud's was even more different. It tightened up as you screwed it in. No such thing as standard when it comes to pins.

Would you say that is faster than Simonis 860, or 760? I have heard of it.
