As far as the US Open, you must stay in the hotel to register. Texas has lots of players who would rather not stay at the hotel due to being local. It is possible you don't have to if you live within a certain distance of the venue but I haven't heard the outcome for that.

It depends on where you live. Here in TX almost all fargo games are played on 8 foot or 9 foot tables. Only time I ever played on bar tables was at BCA state or BCA Nationals.
