Shane is Back In the Cup!

I agree with the idea of MC style tournaments in the US. It would be awesome to see those events well promoted and sponsored.

Players touching the table with the tip of cue

Just wondering Brags, are you an "Old Schooler"? Someone who wants things to be as they were originally designed? The game has changed and the equipment has changed with it. Styles of play have changed. Rules of the game change as well. Do you drive a vehicle or walk everywhere because...

    Whats wrong with me?

I think a lot of players go through this. They call it playing down to competition. Really feeling like you are stronger than the opponent can change your mind about how to play certain shots. Then they will get a "lucky" roll and hook you then all of a sudden you are down 1-0. No big deal...

Meucci Black Dot Shaft.....why not the rage?

I have played with the same black dot shaft for about 10 years. I have not had any problems to speak of so far. Still rolls straight and sends the cue ball where ever my loopy stroke tells it to.

Time limit for games like in chess.

Shot Clocks make sense sometimes. But when shots are critical I need time to look at the angle as well as where all balls contacted are going. Yes, most shots are simple and will not take much time, but there are others that are just uncomfortable. Is 3 minutes really enough when safety play...

What shot would you most like to make under intense pressure?

Would clearly depend on the game being played. If 9-ball then I would want to make a long bank shot. If 8-ball, (Made this one before. Best called shot of my life) Corner hooked 3-rail kick bank on the 8. One Pocket, kick bank off the rail to win. Straight pool, cluster shot for the win...

Change.org's Petition to remove all bar tables in the world

In the town I live in there is only 2-9 foot tables. TOTAL...Luckily they are Diamonds and we can play them, but other than that you can't find any. Why would it make ANY sense to ban the 7 foot table when it is the predominate table in the US? I would rather sign a petition that says no...

    Different Style Tournament

I want to start a handicapped tournament that would not be a typical elimination style tournament. I want a round robin style. ACS/BCA handicaps apply. Everyone plays everyone once. Scores are accumulated on a regular scale of 10 point game. Everyone has an equal chance. Player with the...

    "House" rules

I think the "House Rule" at my place will be that I get half of all gambling winnings. I will take on anyone that wants to play for any amount of money in any game they can come up with. Anyone?.....Anyone???...

    Practicing on Coin-op tables

If the owner will not open the table practice kicks as mentioned above, banks, and Jump Shots. These are the harder ones to make so your money will stretch further. Still you will need to expect to pay around $10 or $15 per hour of practice. When practicing jumps and banks you might want to...

    Rules question (specifically TAP League)

He most likely used the APA rule for this as it is a foul in the APA. Most rules I have seen though this is a legal hit. Good for him to have the sportsmanship to call a foul on himself even though it was an incorrect call.

    Your worst miss....

As with everyone else I have missed the easy ones and hard ones. Normally misses are due to trying to do too much with whitey. Recently had ball in hand, easy side pocket shot but needed to go down table and back to get proper shape (Or at least I thought so). Wound up scratching in the...

May 21-24 (16) Top Professionals One Pocket $2000 Entry Details

Nice!! One pocket is a game I need to learn a lot more on. Well, that and 9-ball, and a little 8-ball. I could use practice on my 10-ball break as well. Maybe should spend time learning to bank. Well, maybe I am not yet ready for tournament play.

why are the british the best in the world?

It could also be that there are almost no snooker tables in the US. The I live in doesn't have a single one that I know of. These questions you are asking, does it relate to 9-ball and 8-ball as well? Is the difference the type of game that is involved? Do all other areas of the world get...
