    What happened to Robb Saez?

It was posted on Facebook today (I think by Erica) that Robb is out of the hospital and the bone just had a hair line fracture. Really not that difficult to do... Bottom line, come at me with a cue (or anything) as a weapon, I'm not stopping until I know you are unable to hurt me!

    What happened to Robb Saez?

I was not there either I was not there, either. But from what I have gathered, Robb had a few too many to drink, got a little hostile while gambling with Shane, and Shane quit. If this is actually how it went down, I don't blame Shane for quitting, winner or not! If my opponent gets mouthy and...

    Love and Pool

This is rather lengthy, but I hope an enjoyable read... January 30, 2016 Love and Pool Recently, while in one of the pool rooms I frequent, I heard someone make a comment. This particular person is someone for whom I respect both for his ability as a player and as a person in general. The...

Who Spends More In the poolrooms?

Really good thread, by the way! One thing you also must consider. The action players who come in and play for hours on end, yeah, they might just drink water, or a coke, or an energy drink, but their table rental is 100% profit! There is no 6000% liquor tax, or 200% mark up on tomatoes, it's...

    Tournament players only

Both... As a tournament director, I have found the answer to this question is quite elusive, and players are very fickle in their opinions as well! I run a weekly big table tournament which started as a non handicapped tournament. There were 2 local guys who seemed to win it nearly every week...

    Why people leave the forum.....

I log in and peruse almost every day. About once every 2 weeks or so I find a thread that looks like it MIGHT be worth opening. I post and/or respond even less often. As far as attacks go, I can remember one in particular that went on for many pages! When I first joined there were ma y...

    Humidity

I turn the thermostat down... Aim longer on banks, shoot at slower speed, don't shoot shots where the pocket must be cheated. Most of the adjustments are automatic, don't really have to consciously adjust.

ARAMITH BALLS: "That's how I roll!"

I didn't read this whole thread so I hope I'm not repeating someone. I played with a set of Cyclops balls which were of the first made. That set of balls was fantastic! I loved the way the cue ball reacted and it seemed I knew exactly where it was going to go nearly every time. Now, I played...

Another video showing Cyclop cue ball rolls off once in a while

My sentiments exactly! I have played with the Cyclops balls quite a bit and I've got to say, I absolutely love them! From the very first time a struck a Cyclops cue ball I felt like it reacted exactly as I intended. Since then, I have not seen anything more crazy with the Cyclops than any other...

WHY? Thin shaft VS. Thick Shaft

I know! I know! And I'm guessing Joey does too... Is he missing ALL cut shots, or just those which require more than a 1/4 ball cut?

Jerry Brock passed away this morning

I met Jerry at a little $5 8-ball tournament in Mobile, AL just a few months ago. I had never heard of him. We started talking and ended up playing some $50 then $100 one pocket, with me still not knowing who he was. Eight hours later I was 2 games winner when the joint was closing. He handed me...

New Action App for Your Phone

No, it's not a joke. A friend of mine developed it with the help of an app writing guy. From what I've seen of it, I think it'll be quite a useful tool for players on the road and even local players. How can you go wrong for one dollar?

New Action App for Your Phone

ActionHound is a new app for your iPhone or Android. It helps you locate players (and be located) by the GPS. It has a chat feature in which the players can match up and also a venue finder to set up the match. My description is somewhat vague as to its full capacity, but I have not yet been...

    Pool gods, karma, or coincidence?

Yes, I honestly believe that as well. However, it is strange, and I've seen it countless times over the years, that when a player is playing very well, even when he makes a mistake it seems to turn out alright. Yet, when a player is not playing well, it seems everything he does turns in to a...

    Pool gods, karma, or coincidence?

Tuesday night I matched up with a local player to play some one pocket. I have never lost to this guy, ever. That is, until Tuesday... The match started out as expected. I quickly won the first two games. Then, something in my head clicked, or should I say, short circuited! I started shooting...

ATTN: Mississippi gulf coast, NOLA, Mobile area players

I just want to let everyone know that Skeeters in Gulfport, formally known as, Jim Bob's, has recovered their tables with tournament blue Simonis! The tables are now playing better than ever! I'm hoping this will attract some players back to this once thriving poolroom!
