    chatter

I've never been to an Expo before either. This time, however, I'm seriously considering making the 4 hour drive and seeing what it's like. It would also be nice to meet some of the people from AZB.

What is the best production cues you like most?

There are a lot of really good production cues out there. I am happy with my McDermott cue. In my opinion, McDermott makes good quality products that start at a very reasonable price point, and they're made here in the US. I am also completely happy with my OB shaft. OB makes exceptional...

Kamui Black Clear Vs. Regular Kamui black..

I switched to Kamui Clear Black a while back and really like the Kamui tip a lot. I have been thinking about going down in hardness also and appreciate Bavafongoul's comments. I will probably try the Kamui Clear Black SS next time. But these tips last. They hold up well. No glazing. I don't...

    McDermott G Core shaft

I agree with Dave M. There are a lot of new McDermott cues with G-core shafts in your price range. My main playing cue is a prime example. When I first bought it, I used the g-core shaft all the time. Eventually, I decided to try an OB shaft and found that I liked it better. That is NOT...

How bad are the people in your league?

As some have pointed out, playing in a league (I strongly recommend the APA,) is about having fun as well as playing pool. I love being around the people I play with and have rarely encountered people I'd rather not be around in any league. More importantly, what you will very likely encounter...

Making a Comeback at 50 Y.O. ~ Video of recent try.

Thanks for your post Colin. It is encouraging to me to see people in my age bracket playing competitively and working on their game like you are. I'm 57 and appreciate your post quite a bit. I wish you all the best!

    schmelke cues info

I special ordered my break cue from Shmelke a couple of years ago. 30" butt (maple) and 30" purpleheart break shaft. 3/8x10 joint. The people I dealt with were great. The cue is nicely balanced and well made and a great value for what I spent.

Where to purchase Sterling Wave Case 4x8?

Try calling Tim's Cues. The number is: (704) 361-6625. The guy there is really good. I bought my Sterling Wave case from him. I've had mine a while and love it. I remember having a good experience buying from that guy. I just checked his website and he still has 4x8 Sterling Wave cases...

    2 Piece Cues at Home

I have an 8 foot table in my basement, but I don't leave any cues down there. It's an unfinished basement and it's always cool (and sometimes cold) down there. I keep all my cues upstairs in cases. I don't even like leaving the table down there, but (a) I don't have any room big enough...

Question about OB Classic+ and OB-1+

I've had this shaft for a little over a week now, and have played quite a bit with it. It is awesome! I love everything about it! Thanks again to everyone for all their comments.

    Honest questions about cues..

OB cues and shafts are made here in the US. I just bought a new shaft from them and it has a lifetime warranty. Moreover, they have great customer service, make great quality products, and are affordable (with cues from around $330 up). McDermott is another company that is US based and has a...

    Playing and Back Problems?

I injured my back more than a decade before I got into playing pool. I have problems with four discs in the lumbar region of my spine, and four more in the cervical part. (five of the eight are herniated, the other three are bulging). I can't stand for long periods of time without my back...

Do You Play Any on Bar Tables?

I play 8 ball (APA) on the bar tables (in pool halls and bars), 9 ball (APA) on 9 foot tables (in pool halls), and I practice on whatever I can. The size of bar tables is fun to play on, but the condition of some of them is another matter. The other night I played on one that had coasters...

Are Kamui Clear tips a gimmick???

After playing with it a few more days, it's perfect. This is a wonderful tip! I love it. It is different than what I was used to, but it is excellent. I don't know what I was doing wrong the first time I tried to shape it, but I haven't had to do anything to it since then but chalk it up and...

    Adjusting to a new tip

I played with a Tiger Everest for the last few years and just switched to a Kamui Clear Black Soft less than a week ago. I definitely notice a difference. I doubt the difference is comparable to the difference between switching from a hard to a super soft tip. For me, the difference is due...

Is it rude to give an honest bad opinion about the hit and quality of a custom cue?

What exactly is a "much deserved public opinion"?

Are Kamui Clear tips a gimmick???

Last night was the first time in my life that I ever played with a Kamui tip. I just bought an OB Classic+ and had them install a Kamui Clear Black Soft on it. I received it the other day and played with it for the first time last night. It came "shaped", but didn't quite look right to me, so...
