Do your coworkers take your pool game seriously?

I told my boss that I spent ~$300 on a new cue. The next day he said, "I told my wife about your pool cue - she said it sounds like you need to get your priorities in order." I said, "It sounds like she needs to keep her opinions to herself." Not really, but I wanted to.

EDIT: Cue purchased. Thanks to those who responded. Looking to buy a true sneaky pete - wood to wood joint, no distinguishing characteristics, no exotic wood. I'm looking to spend up to $200. Anyone got something that matches this? I'm looking to buy by the end of the week.

Why is it always green felt with blue chalk?

Yes, very close to the color of chalk in your avatar. It wasn't my choice though- if it were up to me, I'd go with something like Euro Blue.

Why is it always green felt with blue chalk?

I have a redish table at my house but it is dark enough so that it isn't too hard on the eyes.

    How fast is this table?

Would it not also be dependent on what size the table was? Since on a 7 ft bar table, the ball might roll the same distance but it would be different according to the diamonds...

    Checking the Rack

What I normally do is leave the piece of chalk down at the table by the rack so that way when I check the rack it doesn't look as obvious.

One Pocket - Youths' Trojan Horse

I'd be happy to play one-pocket if someone would be willing to teach me. I'll be down in Tampa in a couple weeks and I have no trouble paying for table time or lunch.
