I have recently acquired an old, very well-made wood lathe. (Shopsmith)
I thought about tinkering around with making cues, and after looking through this collection I am a bit curious as to what exactly a "blank" is?

I am uploading several cell phone photos in hopes someone may be able to offer a bit more info on my cue.
It is a Palmer, bought for $75 back in 1977 at a billiards shop in New Orleans, and it is rather plain, with linen wrap.
Any info is much appreciated.

The only cue I've ever owned is a Palmer my father bought for me on my 8th birthday in 1977.
I have never had much luck finding anything about it, and it is nice to finally learn a few things about the makers of this great cue. (Happy belated...
