Ever Gone Up A Tip Size?

Diameter is important but length of taper is also, comfort moving through your fingers, especially with a closed bridge. It all can be done for you if you have an experienced cuesmith and exactly how you want it, if you are playing with wood, which I do. If you are playing with carbon you are at...

9 ball variant idea. How might this game be broken?

Maybe I am. You will 3 foul your opponent in 9 ball 80% of the time if you choose to?

    The Joss experience.

I've been to Joss in Towson Md. Went there 8 years ago to pick up a custom that Dan Janes made for me. Dan signed and dated the cue for me. The Janes are very welcoming people and extremely easy to work with. I will be going back inside of a month to pick up a new custom, box cue, that Stephen...

Pool Hall Photos From All Over.

Yup. Playing at home is not the same as playing in a poolroom. Gets repetitious.

Pool Hall Photos From All Over.

Lucky you having a room ten minutes from you. Are those 9 footers or 7 footers? If they are 9 footers and set up well then eventually serious players will be coming around. I'm lucky too. My room is about 25 minutes from me. A few 7 foot Diamonds and 8 9 foot Diamonds two of which are...

Pool Table Color Change - Wish It Wasn’t So……

Love the grey. Next reclothing of my home table will be grey. Object balls stand out cleanly on grey cloth. Played with many different sets of balls and never seen a grey object ball in any of those sets.

A hard tip but not too hard?

I was gifted one of your milk buds and loved it. My other shafts are hard pressed Triangles. I felt they all played the same. Why do you not ever use Triangles? What difference do you see between the two tips? I understand. If it works don't fix it. Just curious?

    Cue maker suggestions

Try Steve Janes at Joss. He's been working side by side with his Dad Dan for decades. I should be receiving a handmade cue from Steve in about 3 weeks or so.

Well then by default you're the guy in that room. Maybe one day we'll play some 3C again.

That would be a good idea. Sounds like you are evolving in the game. Playing better players?

    Aiming B.S.

Find the contact point on the object ball that is furthest away from the desired pocket. Think about it. Heard it first from Allison Fisher. Makes sense. As far as HAMB? Yup but don't practice lazy. Practice lazy and you will play lazy. Get the bridge when you practice instead of moving the...

A hard tip but not too hard?

Thanks. I use 12.25. Like a long taper too. Naturally low deflection people tell me. Don't know much about it but it works for me.

A hard tip but not too hard?

Sort of guilty as charged. Tried a Predator CF shaft for a while. Didn't like the taper at all. Didn't last long. Sold it at a loss of course. That being said, having a cue built as we speak and it will come with a kielwood shaft. I gave the maker one of my shafts to duplicate it exactly to the...

A hard tip but not too hard?

They play just right for me. That's all I can say. I like the hit of them. I have 4 absolutely identical shafts and I rotate them every session. I get them all re tipped at the same time. I do this about every 6 years or so. I scuff the tip before every session with a good old Willards tip...
