    Lake Superior Cue Shaft

I know this is older, but Superior shafts that have the superior stamp on them, they came out of Billiards N Bagels in Gresham/Portland area. Jim Oswald would send the blanks to various cue makers and Jim had a metal stamp to stamp the shafts when they came back. I have no idea what other...

I feel there needs to be a demarcation line

Granted, I haven’t really been active on here for a number of years, but I have noticed a change in the overall atmosphere on AZB. I feel that some of the sub forums need two categories. Those who remember Eddie Wheat and those that do not could be a deciding factor for entry. I remember...

Have you ever had an old Dufferin sneaky pete (from Canada) converted?

I have an old Dufferin with the same joint and I can confirm that they do fit. A friend had an OB shaft taped for a Pechauer speed joint, or whatever it is called, and it fit my cue perfectly. Played great too.

    Cheap 3/8x10 butt

I have a McDermott lucky plain maple butt, though I’m sure with shipping it’s not worth the hassle.

    Adam/Julio Stamboulini

I can’t help you, but I picked up a model 5 a few years ago and they are my favorite Adam made cues. Something about that big pin and the wood they use or the way they dry it.

Runde with a Micaela joint question

Micarta. I just realized my phone auto corrected it.

Runde with a Micaela joint question

For those of you that have a Runde cue with a micarta joint, can you measure it for me? I’m assuming it is .845 or .85.

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

I think a lot of hit has to do with availability. The first real pool hall I went to as a teenager had quite a selection of Viking, Joss, McDermott and some customers cues. My first cue in 1991 was a Viking PJ that was $140 give or take. Cousins Custom Cues were the nicer ones I recall from...

Tim Padgett sneaky Pete price check

I have been out of the loop on pricing for maybe a decade. What is the going rate for a Tim Padgett sneaky? He ID’d the sneaky as one of his in an old AZB post of mine many years ago.

    Cue identification

About 3/4 the way down in this post, there is a scan of an ad for Tyler cues. The cue on the left looks like it has the same joint. Tyler cue post

    Another Cue I.D Thread.....

Points look too wide to be Runde, IMHO.

    Old Schon Cue

Brown stitch should place it as an S series which predates the R series.

    Gracio sneaky Pete?

I just picked this up at a pawnshop in Northern Idaho. The signature kinda looks like is says Gracio. It definitely starts with a cursive G. Large brass 3/8x 11 pin with a dimple. The buttcap and joint ring almost looks like it was made with carbon fiber. The shaft collar is not the same...

    Walt has a nice Palmer

I have the same model F. Very solid hitting cue. That’s super cool to see a guy with e same cue for 50 plus years.

Interesting joint on a snooker cue

I think those were made by Adam if I recall correctly.

Interesting joint on a snooker cue

No idea. I can’t seem to find another one with the same wedge inlay. I feel like the inlay materials and the joint are the same, so I would think it is stock. It does have a rather lovely nose on the 5/16x18 pin.

Rare bird 93 Schon 31” shaft

Here are some better pics of the joint and the ferrules. Everything looks right for a stock shaft from 93 to me. One thing I just thought of, there was a great shop here in Gresham, Billiards N Bagels years ago. Jim Oswald had an impressive selection, upwards of 50 different cue makers cues...
