How to Aim Masse Shots Like A Dead French Mathematician

This method of aiming masse shots was first (I think) described by the early 19th century French mathematician, mechanical engineer and physicist Gaspard-Gustave de Coriolis. It's very well known, thanks mostly (I think) to Robert Byrne describing it in one (or more) of his books.

It seems an Aiming Forum should have an easy-to-understand graphic description of this basic aiming method, so here's my attempt. Hope somebody finds it useful.

Nice illustration, what are you using again? I think you mentioned it before.
I set up the balls and stick on the table using Virtual Pool 3, take a screenshot of that, crop it and tweak the brightness using Microsoft Office Picture Manager, then add lines and text using a simple drawing program called SmartDraw.

Very easy.

This is too advanced for pool players these days.

The new steps to make the shot is:
Put together your 12" long 8oz jump cue with a plastic tip.
Pop over the cueball, or have your 10 yr old niece do it who has never held a cue stick before, it's all just as easy.
Then use your robotically designed shaft with 45 parts including some glob found at the bottom of the space shuttle to make the next ball. Make sure it's attached to $4,000 worth of wood and precious metals and you have a good variety of layered and blessed by priest tips in case you get out of line on your spin shots.

Love your thread title BTW.
