What happened?? Inquiring minds want to know ;)

$40 entry fee.
Went 4-2.
finished 7th-8th.
Tourney started at 1:30pm.
I got knocked out after midnight.
Received $50 for my efforts.
Somethings got to change...

47 players x $40 entry fee=$1880
payouts:
1st $750
2nd $500
3rd $300
4th $200
5th-6th $100
7th-8th $50
9th-12th $25
total payouts-$2150
"$1000 added"???
Looks like $270 added to me.
Where did the other $730 go? Greens fees most likely.
$730/47 players $15.53 per player?
So $730 was taken out of $1880 for greens fees, then it was added back in as part of the $1000 added?
Well at least he "added" the $270 right?
How much did he take out of the Calcutta?
I will not support these tournents any longer.
And don't even get me started on how the TD refused to watch a hit for me because he said I was just trying to shark my opponent. the varsity clubs tournaments fail to impress me. Apparently many others as well. Perhaps these are the reasons why the carom room reigns supreme. Perhaps not. Perhaps I'm just looking for a reason to complain. You can't make everybody happy. Apparently I'm everybody :)

I could have driven 27mi instead of 180mi. Paid $15 instead of $40. Played 5 hours instead of almost 12, won'the same amount of matches and possibly doubled my winnings I got at the varsity club at a local tournament in aurora at Rudys. I won't make this mistake again.

Thanks for keeping it real in Beloit, Dave and Duane. Thanks for trying Varsity Club. You're just not there yet.

Dear Joe Durham,

Let's clear something up. The entry fee was $40. Of that entry there was a $10 greens fee and since this was an ACS tournament there was a $5 fee that went straight to the ACS, not to me. This means that $25 of each entry went towards the tournament payout.

So payout was as follows:
47 players X 25 = 1175

Then add the FULL $1000 that I added to the tournament = $2175

NOW, add all the payouts for the tournament and tell me what that adds up to:
1st $700
2nd $ 500
3rd $350
4th $225
5/6th $100
5/6th $100
7/8th $50
7/8th $50
9/12th $25
9/12th $25
9/12th $25
9/12th $25

That equals $2175. So let's be clear about something, I fully added a $1,000 dollars to that tournament and paid it all out.

Now on to the Calcutta that you mentioned. There was $1950 in the calcutta total.

Payouts for the calcutta were as follows:

1st $750
2nd $550
3rd $300
4th $200
5/6th $75
5/6th $75

The payout equals $1950. No money was taken out of the calcutta, it was fully paid out.

Now on to the fact that I refused to watch a hit for you. You were blatantly trying to shark your opponent. I refuse to get involved in a situation like that. Every player has a right to have a referee watch a hit, but that is within reason. A referee must never be used as a means to shark an opponent.

So let's sum up what we've been able to figure out:

You brought up the payouts and were completely wrong.

You try to have me shark your opponent and you were wrong to do that.

You have these perceived complaints and don't have the heart to ask me about them personally, instead you use some sort of 3rd grade math equation and come up with the wrong answer, and then anonymously post them on the internet. You are wrong to do so.

Overall, you need to grow up. Grown men don't handle situations like you have.
