I just received my Mezz Ignite 12.2 carbon fiber shaft a few days ago. I’m using it with my Mezz Exceed butt, with a wavy joint. It came with a Zan medium plus tip. The hit/feel/feedback is very solid, similar to most of the other shafts in the Mezz line. It certainly has a better feel/sound than the Revo shaft, the only other carbon fiber shaft I have used.
I would say the level of deflection is considerably more than the WX900 shaft I had been using, but slightly less than the Mezz WX700 shaft. It’s simply impossible to beat the smooth, slick feel that a CF shaft offers, not to mention the easy maintenance that comes with it.
I also have a Pechauer CF shaft coming within the next week or two, which I’ve heard nothing but good things about. I’m curious to see how those two shafts compare with each other, and I’ll report back after I’ve had a chance to do that.
