I'm not much into judging, and I certainly don't get-off on telling other people what to do, but, it seems like the more popular a maker gets, the less often their cues get played by the owners, and I think that's pretty awful.
I've done several of the things previously mentioned; sent cues to the "wrong" people for repair, left the cue in a case on the top of the car and drove off, threw the cue (in a Fellini type knockoff case), bounced the cue on a carpeted floor at a slight angle and shattered the buttcap.
I used to be a bit of a cranky fella with an anger problem and I would regularly smack and throw my first Tascarella around. I'm lucky Pete's finish work is so good - I somehow barely was able to put a dent in that thing for all the abuse I gave it. I've since worked a few issues out in my life and don't tend towards anger so much anymore.
Oh, and as has been mentioned a few times above - I've sold cues that I shouldn't have as well.
