Cues by Marcus Dienst under the brand name "Arthur Cues" are well-known among collectors. At their best they rival cues by a select few makers, and always remind most of us of Black Boars. Marcus is one of only a few cuemakers outside of the U.S. who is afforded the same recognition as the top American cuemakers, and one of only two who are annually invited to display at the International Cue Collector Show, the most prestigious of all cue events.

This is a beautiful cue, and is typical of Marcus' high end work. It begins with a classic eight point design - four long and four short. Each ebony point is outlined with a solid ivory veneer, which is further outlined by a solid ebony veneer. These points beautifully contrast against a nose of gorgeous birdseye maple.

He loads this cue with lots of high end ringwork at all locations - at the butt cap, above and below the wrap, at the joint, on the shaft ring collars, and on the joint protectors. His ringwork is phenomenol. Each ring is meticulously made of small "half" fleur d'lis designs, each one made of silver and ivory. He spared no time nor expense building this one.

In the butt sleeve, he inlays a beautiful design which almost defies description... I'll let the pictures do the talking. Each segment is first inlaid with ivory and then silver is inlaid on top (except for the diamonds separating each major inlay ... they are ivory only).

He adds an ivory butt cap, and inlays his special logo in silver. He adds an ivory joint to complete the look, and finishes it with an expertly applied black elephant wrap.

He adds a very nice set of matching joint protectors, all with the same expensive ringwork -- all made with ebony, maple, and ivory, and all with the Arthur logo.

The ivory joint is flat-faced and built with a 3/8X10 stainless steel pin. It comes with two 13 mm shafts with ivory ferrules and what appear to be LePro tips. It weighs 19.3 ounces.

This is an exceptional cue, and one that is hard to find. You will find many of the top European players using his cues, but not a lot find their way to the U.S. When they do, they are typically very high end and among his best work. Even fewer find their way onto the secondary market.

This one has been previously owned, and one shaft shows a little play, but is in excellent condition with no dings or scratches. The other shaft is unplayed, and the butt is mint, showing no signs whatsoever of play. I would call the cue at 95% condition.

I was told somewhere in the 6 to 7k range am I far off ?

if you are not sure what the price should be, a good option would be to post pics, specs and the description on the Main Forum asking for what the fair market value would be and based on the responses you get you can decide if you want to sell and, if so, for how much.

then, assuming you are selling, you can come back on here and add a selling price.
