Jean Balukas - SI article "The Kid Hustles To A Title"

I have seen her play live about a dozen times or more, but also have a DVD of her and Ewa playing back in a Jay Helfert promoted event in the 1980's. Johnnyt

I have 2 matches I think from mid-late 1980's on VHS, one with her against Ewa and another against Robin Bell (the one where she lost her temper and got fined and ultimately quit the tour). In that timeframe, she was dominant, one of the few women who combined power with knowledge and ability. The women's tour has come a long way, there are a ton of great players that are fun to watch now, but back then it was something to see. Sad that it ended the way it did.
