Old thread but just bump again.
@measureman Sam "one poke" Fauver was my great grandfather. If you have any questions I might be able to find answers for you.
I met Poke at the pool room he co owned in about 1961.
He was already retired from completive pool and was one of the best players in N.J. for decades.
He was a very nice man and put up with the mostly High School kids that hung out there and I'm sure we tried his patience many times.
He did teach me some things about playing pool.
I hung out in his room from 1961 to 1965 when I went in the Marine Corps.
When I got out in 1969 the room had closed and he was working or maybe he owned the Lucky Cue in Neptune city.
I left N.J. in 1971 and thats the last I saw him.
