hi Marc;

'm sure someone will chime in with better detail but I've read in previous posts where people made these themselves with wire and either ping pong balls, styrofoam balls or colored plastic floats.

there may also be some ready to habg for sale but I'm unaware where they would be.

good luck

The plastic golf ball sized balls with holes in them, on a tight wire between two posts, attached to our Diamond type overhead lights have worked great for us for 20+ years. The players can easily reach up and slide the balls on the wire, with their pool cues. We have a total of two sets of 11 balls on the wire, the Bottom one about 4 inches above the top edge of the light frame and the top one about 5-6 inches above that. Before installing them, we spray painted the 5th and 10th ball a different color, just to make it easier for players/spectators to determine what the score is when looking at them. I’m sure the balls can be found at a Walmart or certainly a sporting good store with a golf section.

I wish I knew how to transfer a photo from my phone to a post, or I would have included a photo of ours for you. If you want to send a PM with your cell phone number, I’ll text some photos of ours to to you – I do know how to do that at least!

I made my counters from 1.5" pool balls, steel rod and custom aluminum brackets. The brackets could easily be made from wood.

Craft store for the picture wire, open cell foam balls, and paint.

Hardware store for the wood, stain, and eyelets.

Wow, very nice. On a side note, anyone handy enough to make those counters probably would be skillful enough to put some wallboard on the side wall. ;)

Actually need the clearance for cue swings. That's the north facing wall. Sincethat pic was taken, I installed 1" rigid foam insulation in the south facing wall as well as the garage doors (west facing). I also insulates and drywalled the ceiling and installs AC.

And I have the scars to prove it.

It is a mid '50's AMF commercial model with Artemis cushions, 4" corners and 4,875" sides. I recently sold it when I got a great deal ($400) on a Gold Crown I which I restored and is currently having the rail work done: subrails extended and beveled to accept modern K55 cushions, corners cut to 4.125", sides 4.875". The Gold Crown should be setup within the next couple of weeks.

The custom light I made to match the AMF table (pictured) was sold with the table. My ball counters were not included on the sale and will reside atop a custom light I am making to match the aesthetics of the Gold Crown I.
