Use Google to search AZB

Often times the search function on AZ will tell you that you can't use words that it deems to be too short like "one".

So I have found that by searching on Google for a thread I know exists that I can often get the link to it in the results easily.

I just type in what I am looking for and that works.

Here is the way you would do it if you want to search ONLY in AZ Billiards forums

one pocket site:forums.azbilliards.com

Put that into google.

you get this

https://www.google.com/webhp?source...ow=1&q=one+pocket+site:forums.azbilliards.com

John, I tried that. I typed in "JB cases debates on AZ Billiards" and got 9,858 hits. LOL

:) it's all good. Maybe AZB should keep track of those stats. I know I have to be near the top or maybe the all-time champion. Gotta be good at something.

Good point, Mr. Barton. The search engine on this forum platform is weak. This method is better.

Great advice, John. The search function here has frustrated me quite often.

The format google recommends is to put the search query before the site designation

as in

best chalk site:forums.azbilliards.com

site: command in Google is one of many useful commands (more commands at http://www.google.com/advanced_search ) but has its limitations -. it will only shows results of pages indexed by Google search engine. Sometimes site owners may hide certain pages from Google search engine using stuff like robots.txt or Google search crawlers may miss our certain pages . That means you may not find some pages of azbilliards on Google
For active site like azbilliards a high % of pages will be show in Google search database but not 100%
Obviously a higher % closer to 100% will show on search function within azbilliards itself.
But if the search function here is faulty or not great then maybe azbilliards can add the Google search engine box . https://www.google.com/cse/ This will users to search on azbilliards itself using Google awesome search :)
