I would like to thank all that attended the "Be the Best Seminar"
this past weekend. It is always enlightening to me when I see the
faces of players that are learning things that will greatly improve
their game, and their entire lives. A great time was had by all. I
would also like to thank Art Metcalf for allowing the use of his
facilities on Saturday and Sunday after the original location fell
through. Art did a fine job getting everything together and was a
fine host. It is my prayer that the people that attended this event
can apply this information in all areas of their lives, as well as in
pool.

The next seminar will be in El Paso on June 6-7. There are many
slots still available. If you are interested in attending this
event, please contact me via e-mail at blackjackds@elp.rr.com, or
just give me a call at 915-757-3547.

Lessons in 9 Ball will be completed this week. For those of you that
do not know, this was the first book that I tried to publish through
a publishing company. It turned into a complete nightmare, and in
the process, I almost lost complete control over the content that was
originally included in the first draft of this book and "Building the
Perfect Game". I was asked to compromise the integrity of the book
by adding fictitious stories that would add a "compelling story" to
the instruction material. Over time, I realized that their original
intentions were not sincere. They were supposed to produce the
material, and donate a portion of the proceeds to charity, in this
case, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Businesses are in the
business of making money, many of them are driven by greed. The
alteration of the material was being done to sell more books to cover
the price of the production costs for the company. I refused to
pervert my book, they refused to produce it. I stood my ground, as
the book was meant to be an instruction manual only, geared towards
the game of 9 ball. To make a long story short, in mid-December the
lawyers became involved and I was ultimately sued by the company for
breach of contract. In response, they refused to release any version
of either book. I had the material, but I could do nothing with it
for almost 6 months. Finally, on May 2, the material was retruned
back to me, and I was ultimately released from the contract with the
publishing company. Under the terms, I would have to replace all of
the diagrams (I had professional artwork provided as part of my
initial contract) and I have had to re-do all of the diagrams. In
teh end I was happy to have control over my literature, and I have
edited most of the original text to ensure that it looks absoloutely
nothing like the project Magnolia Publishing had produced for me.

I am now in the process of touching up the odds and ends this
week, and hope to be able to privately release this material starting
on June 1, 2003. The book will be self produced in my home by my
family and I. It will not look as professional as the original book,
but I believe that this is the way the Lord wanted the book done. It
may not look as nice as a professionally produced product, but this
material comes from the heart. This material is designed to improve
the level of your game. It is not designed to make Blackjack David
Sapolis a rich man. I have learned a lot from this experience, the
main lesson learned was to stick to my gut instincts about the people
I do business with. If I had followed my gut instincts, I would have
gone against the advisement of my attorney and never signed the
contract. Today, I am very happy that players all over the world
will finally be able to benefit from the information provided within
this book, which was my intention all along. The good part is, that
while this was going on, I was able to add more material to the book
(almost 90 pages, many of which were deleted from inclusion by the
publisher). This means that everything that was intended to be in
the book, will be in the book. This will affect the cost of the book
(Originally the book listed for $10.00, but that was when it was 96
pages; it is now almost 200 pages which was what I originally
intended) so I will be selling the book at $20 a copy. The raise in
price is due to the cost to produce the material. I will send out
another e-mail when I am ready to accept orders.

For people that originally sent in money for advanced copies back in
November and December, you will recieve this book for the original
price, along with my sincerest apologies for this senseless delay.

Good Luck and God Bless
