Hi All, Up for sale is a beautiful 2001 Jim Griffen Norwela custom cue. Cue is made of birdseye maple and rosewood or possibly bocote. Four hand spliced birdseye points that are perfectly even all the way round the cue. Four "bushka style" black and silver accent rings on the butt and one around the shaft joint collar. Durlin butt cap. I bought this cue brand new and it is near perfect condition. Butt of the cue is 100%. Rolls perfectly straight together or apart. There are two very small dings in the shaft from it getting knocked over in a tournament but they are almost unnoticeable. If you don't know about Jim's cues there is some info below to help. I paid $580 for it new in Vegas about 7-8 years ago. I believe Jim has retired so his cues will certainly appreciate in value. Will consider reasonable offers but I am looking for $350-$400 ideally. Thanks for looking. Contact me @hudsonhull@yahoo.com or here if interested. I have many pictures of the cue but I can't figure out how to upload them. So call 303-434-2267 or email me and I will send them to you to check out. Thanks, Brian.
Jim met an out-of-work cue builder who suggested that he buy
a lathe and learn cue making. Jim's appreciation for wood and
woodworking made him think that he just might enjoy building cues. In 1993, he purchased a lathe and
began learning the craft from a cue maker who had been trained under both Richard Black and Bill Schick,
and started Norwela Cues. The name Norwela (Nor-we-la) is a derivative of North West Louisiana.

In 1999, Jim purchased all of the cue making equipment from what was once called "Its George" and set up a
full-blown shop. He now has eight lathes, a pantograph, table saw, chop saw, scroll saw, two band saws,
buffer, rod sander, grinder, drill press, etc. No CNC! He has made several changes to the manner in which
he was taught to make cues, which he believes have given his cues a superior hit.

Jim's cues can be identified by the Norwela logo, the year it was finished, and "Jim Griffin" signature. He is a
member of the International Cuemakers Association.

Jim retired from making cues last year and his shop was sold to Mike Wheeler(the person who built cues under Richard Black and Bill Schick). Jim is a great guy and a member of this forum also. If you need to get a hold of him for any reason PM him.
