1 1/2 inch phenolic rod

This is laminated (not rolled) phenolic rod. I personally would not use these for joints or butt caps because the color is not consistent when turned. I shipped 14 of these rods to a highly respected cuemaker and according to him this material is very good for collets and that is what he intends to use them for. That seems like an awful lot of collets to me but..... PM me if you have any questions
Thanks

What are the laminations made from? Is it a canvas, linen, or cloth laminate or is it wood veneers or strips laminated with phenolic resins?

I believe it is canvas phenolic but I have called Andy and Vicki to see if they can verify that. I will post info when Andy calls me back. These are not laminated wood or plastic strips. It is definitely not diamondwood. Some of this material is going out tomorrow to AZ members. Maybe they can say for sure what type of phenolic this is. I'll let you know as soon as I know

I spoke with Andy Gilbert earlier today. Accordind to Andy this material is older canvas phenolic. He got 14 pieces of the material from me so I will defer to his expertise as to what this is. Any questions please contact me.

I received my rod of this stuff today.
It is definitely some type of laminated canvas phenolic.
Its not woven, so it has no strength.
