ok, dont got much time, but just wanted to post a picture on how the blinds look after sanding, staining (yes with shoedye
) and 2 coats of PU waterbased finish.
everybody told me i was nuts. the pro shop with finishmaterial said NOTHING would stick on shoedye, and that i was a moron trying to make wood look black that way... and look now
how perfect is leather shoedye!! i put 6 coats on ALL the blinds and the feet and if used 1.5 small botles of shoedye (i bought 10
thinking i could always buy more later...)
it looks A-MA-ZI-NG, but i would say that too, even if it looked ugly, just because i did the work
.
anyway, this was a 8 year old UGLY brown (not sure of the colour) oak table, that now looks like real ebony look, JET-BLACK!!, but still u can see every vain of the wood true it.
ill post the full full story with pictures from A to Z later, when its 100% done (need 2 weeks to let the table setle in the room), but i couldnt resist to already post a picture.
