Yep, that's right, one week to go until I go pick up my very own pool table.
I think I got a great deal too............it's a 5-6 yr old Dynamo/Valley "Top Brass" coin-op 7' table and it will have brand new Camel color championship cloth on it which I think will look good with the brass colored corners and trim. I'm having the championship cloth put on it because that's what most tournaments here are played on. I only gave $700.00 for the table and that's with new felt installed. I went and looked at it today and payed for it and will pick it up next Sat. or Sun.
I'll be turning my 1 1/2 car garage (16' x 22') into my pool room over this next week. I have to insulate it, run a little bit of electrical and put up drywall, lay some carpet, etc before next weekend and I'm on winter lay-off right now so I have plenty of time to get it all done before next weekend hopefully. Anybody that wants to come help me out and put in the insulation/drywall this week is welcome to come on over.
I'm thinking about putting in a couple electric baseboard type plug-in heaters that will be thermostat controlled but I haven't decided if that's the best option or not to keep it warm in there..........any other ideas?
My 15 and 12 yr old sons are very, very anxious to get it here so they can play and practice with the "Old Man". My wife isn't quite so happy she's losing the garage, but she hasn't parked in it in the last 2 years anyway since it's been full of all kinds of stuff from our remodeling projects and a gathering place for all sorts of extra "junK". I'll be buying a 8' x 12' storage shed later this year to put stuff like the mower, yard tools, etc. in and I'm building a stairway in the garage and cutting in an access to a rather large storage area that is above our kitchen/dining room that is right next to the garage to solve the other storage issues.
I'll finally have my own "Pool Room"! I can't wait!
