10 Ball Question...

I know ten ball is now becoming popular and all...but I have a few questions.

What are the rules of 10 ball specifically? Anybody have a link to a website with the rules?

I watched a 10 ball ring game in which a guy was snapping the 10 off more often than I have seen the 9 ball snapped off. Is this normal? Is there a special break to make the 10 on the snap?

Does everyone think that 10 ball will take over to the popularity that 9 ball has? I assume we won't see as many racks strung together...but for some players, it may not matter whether they play 10 or 9.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Shorty

10-ball is played like 9-ball, just with one more ball on the table. Same rules i.e. push-out and BIH anywhere on the table after a foul apply. I am unaware of any links for specific rules.

Personally I'd like to see 10-ball played more often. I used to play it quite a bit when I was first taking up pool, but pretty much stopped because no one in the area I lived in liked it and preferred to shoot either 8 or 9 ball. I don't see it eclipsing 9-ball's popularity anytime soon though.

I don't think there is a "special break" to make the 10 go. However, it's been my experience that I would tend to get more action on it if I broke more from the center of the table rather than off the side rail and I generally got a better lie of balls for a run-out.

I believe I recently saw that a seller on Ebay is selling off some of the OOP Accu-Stat tapes from the 1990 Cleveland 10 ball Classic so try checking that out for some good action. I have three of those matches but I won't be giving up mine anytime soon. :)
