What is the website??
Apparently it isn't actually a web site, but an e-mail address. They want to start a tour, and this is supposed to be the inaugural event.

edit: The temporary web site is up on my first post now.

This is great news for Michigan pool, and about time. I mean Michigan is hurting for some good pool tournaments.

Neil or anyone,

Who is behind this tourney or tourneys? Its kinda interesting to see another tour try to pop up considering what happened with the last one. Just curious if you know who is running it. The webpage stuff looks pretty generic, hopefully not a sign of their tour.

I just had shoulder surgery this past week, so I wont be playing any pool, however I might stop out for a beer and see whats going on. Are you planning on playing Neil?

I know the person who is running this new tour, but because it has not been made public I hesitate to name this person. I'm sure it will be know to all soon enough and it is not my place to say.

I believe IMHO that the new TD has the best of intentions and the success of the tour will depend on the number of players that come out to play in the events or otherwise support the new tour.

The quotes below were taken from the website.

We charge no fees to the room to hold events and I take no money from any event. I offer my time and energy for free in an effort to promote the sport and to assist talented players to earn a better living for being the best at what they do.

Any money taken from the entry fees is for green fees only and is very reasonable so the room owners make a little return for opening the room to us for the weekend.

$100 entry fee this includes a $10 greens fee paid out to our host.

Entry fee to the mini tournament is $30 this includes a $5 greens fee paid out to our host.

I will not be playing in these events, if you ever seen me play you would understand why!

I do however plan on attending to offer my support. The food at "The Break Room" is very good at a reasonable price.

I'll make an offer to any AZB out-of-towners to buy you a beverage of your choice. This is limited to events at "The Break Room". Send me a pm and let me know when you will be there.

That's good of you not to mention the promoters name Steve, but there really is no problem with it. Rita Karrip is promoting it. She still has more to learn, but is very open to suggestions. And she is trying her best to make this work. But, as Steve said, whether it works or not is up to the players.

I am definently going to play at least in the mini, as that is my birthday. (Everyone SHOULD give me a 3 game spot for a birthday present. I might have a shot at it then!) I'm planning on playing in the main, but I'll have to see how my money holds up till then because I'm not working right now.

As far as the website, it is generic for now. It will get better if this takes off.Hope to see some of you there.

It felt like a milestone 14 years ago. If I could do it again, it would be GREAT!

Is this open to anyone? Jason, Brandon etc.?
Rita is still waiting for her AZB account to be activated so I will answer.

Yes, it is an open tournament.

I asked Rita if Jason was allowed and she told me yes.

Steve

As Steve said, it is open to everyone. But don't let that scare any of you off. In a tournament format, they all are beatable. Plus, it pays more than first place. A lot of times, playing the better players will up your game and you will come out of it a stronger player.

Yippee I have been activated!! Thanks Neil and Steve!! This is a new tour and regardless of what has failed in the past I feel confident with the right support and all my efforts along with others that want to make this tour work that I can be a success. Its success or failure truly lies in the hands of the players. If they support the tour by showing up and playing and putting on a good show it will survive.
All of the tournaments are open to anyone of any level! I knew there would be some folks hesitant at spending $100 to play against jason or richie or a pro if one should attend so, that's why the mini is only $30. Anyone can play against good players for a reasonable price and as neil said, anyone can win in a tournament!!
I hope we get a good showing not only from players but spectators as well!
I've gotten nothing but support from neil and steve and some other local people......I hope this is a small sampling of what is to come!
Thanks again steve and neil..........let me know if you have suggestions or ideas that will help to make this grow and be around a long time!!!
See you at the break room tournament!!

Hi Rita,

Welcome to AZB!

My first suggestion is that in future posts that you make paragraphs every 2 or 3 lines. That makes it so much easier to read. See your quote below.

Also you should start new and separate threads for your 2 tournament to be held in Holland, MI.
