A buddy of mine John "the coach" Deak is moving to Naples Florida at the end of June and was wondering if there was any 14.1 In Fkorida, or 14.1 Leagues in the Area of where he'll be ? Does anyone have any input, I told him he just might have to start a league. We found one that's a 3 1/2 drive for him each way but that won't cut it. In his words "he's to old for that commute" !!

Thanks in advance 👍
Steve

No straight pool

You don't see much straight pool in FL but It
doesn't mean he can't inspire some people to
start a league or find a transplant that has
moved down here to play . Good luck to
him w his relocating.

Diamond Billiards in Cape Coral

I see a lot of guys playing straight pool in Diamond's during the day. I've lost to quite a few of them already. I'm sure he can match up there. Bit of a ride from Naples, but worth the trip. Plenty of the players there live in Naples.

I have a second home in Naples and go there about 4 times a year for 10 days or so, moving down full time in 2 years- love straight pool. The only pool hall that I see worth his time is as the other fellow mentioned Diamonds in Cape Coral. it is 45 minutes from North Naples and an hour from South Naples-- otherwise he can go to the Norris Senior Center in Old Naples-- 2 pro 8 foot Olhausens in just OK shape-- but those guys play 8 ball only in there. He can contact me via this forum and will be glad to meet him whenever I am in town for straights and I would join a league when down full time. I would be happy to open a small room in Naples/Bonita if I had a dedicated following- but not on spec alone- too risky these days.--Mike

Cape Coral has strong 8-Ball leagues (and some of them have strong and also sandbagging teams ;) ).

SW Florida has very little Straight Pool. Start a league!

Cubit Billiards Club is set up to accommodate round robin groups of four to twelve players with a mobile scorekeeper. You may choose handicapped or non-handicapped. A group leader is necessary that sets the race length, whether or not to handicap the matches, recruits players, the starting and ending dates, etc. There is a monthly Pocketstakes drawing to add a little fun. Find out more at: playcubit.com

Don
