BBC blocks us here in the USA from seeing it on the web, and none of my Television channels carry snooker. Is it the Crucible contest? Just re read your post it is the Crucible, is O'Sullivan in it?

Looked at BBC web site and it seems they don't even offer the Crucible over the internet any more.
Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

yes ronnie is still in it. Currently they are playing the quater finals. Ronnie's match is at 4-4.

yes its the crucible WC i think.

to bad u cant see it , thought they said on tv you could continue to see it on the internet. Ah well, its impossible to see pool on tv here, so i have to be happy with the snooker i see. Id change bbc fo espn2 ANY time :( but i cant get espn2 here in europe belgium.

I would happily trade the pool coverage in North America for Snooker on BBC. Sigh....

Without a doubt. They have hours and hours of live coverage of The Crucible every year. ESPN 2 often shows a three-month old match of Allison crushing one of the same 5 or 6 women.

Yes I agree and up until 2004 they also broadcast it live on the internet, which I think they still do, but somehow thye're able to block out all but the UK.

is espn2 really not that good? yes bbc gives alot of snooker. U can see 1 week of snooker almost every 2-3 months, with every single match from 1st round to finish.

ESPN (all three that show any pool) only shows past events (usually months old by the time they air), never live. Then the matches are crammed into a one hour show, so half the games are either missing entirely or they start showing them in the middle. Last week they showed a Johnny Archer/Mike Sigel match where they only showed them making the last two balls of each game up until the last 3 or 4 games of the match which they showed in entirety. It definitely sucks. I'd rather watch snooker on the itty-bitty computer window with pixelated balls that you can't tell what color they are than ESPN's pool on the big HDTV. At least you get to see the whole thing.

mm didnt know it was THAT bad. i already hated to see the european championship in those pixelated (all balls are orange, huge lagspikes) pc window.

is there any other option to watch pool in europe? (i dont mind they are older matches. ANYthing is better then nothing-. i could get a satelite dish or something but no idea if it will give me some poolmatches.

We are at opposite ends of the spectrum, your desperate for pool, me for snooker. But you may have some hope.

I don't know what the satallite packages are like in Europe but if you can get the BBC I expect that you may be able to get other British channels. Your best bet is Sky Sports. They show the World Championships, World Pool Masters and the Mosconi Cup live.

Sky Sports should be available. At least in many bars, read: Irish Pubs, they have that attached to big screens for watching rugby, football, or snooker. If you can't find info anywhere else go and make a tour in pubs and ask info there.

mmm interesting, thx for the info. ill check it out. i thought espn was the only option i had, and that was not possible. I¨ll check out sky sport.

how many hours of pool can u see +- in a month?

I wished our pool coverage here in north america was as good as snooker coverage in the UK and Europe. Heck, even the UK gets live coverage of the WPC and the Mosconi Cup:( That's it, i'm moving to the UK:D

Sky sports

Fox Sports World (on Comcast) gives snooker updates on occasion but hard to find the occasion. Sky sports does not broadcast to north america. They say the need a paying sponsor to get it on. I went thru lotsa work of getting to talk to the Sky sports people last year just to get some info.
About 4 years ago, I listened to my Short wave radio to the live snooker broadcasts from the BBC. Havent had the chance to do it recently.
From the current world snooker site, they say there is live audio on the web but I have been unable to find it. Last year there was a web site from Germany, which carried an English language broadcast . Couldn't find it this year. Special note...My friends son, Neil Robertson, from Australia, lost in the Elite Eight this year, by 13-12...he is only 24.
