165 Matches On Dvd

Even his book if it was just out there on the shelves in book stores would already be out of print.
I saw it at a Borders yesterday, on the featured new releases shelf. ;)

Wal-Martization of pool...

Id think Id have died and gone to heaven if I could purchase real pool DVD's at Wal-Mart. I might actually support Wal-Mart and shop there if that was the case... as of right now, Wal-Marts are only good to sleep in thier parking lots. Anyways, I want my Earl and Gerda dollies, so I can renact the IPT myself... and have Earl run-a-mok and destroy the entire production when he looses to Gerda... Who the hell wouldnt buy a Danny Basavich action figure? with posable fingers so you can have him point at people hes next to. And the Black Widow could come with a pet spider that she uses to shark her enemies... and Mike Masey's custom pool case, awesome action accessory. OMG and custom made action figure pool cues... so you can buy a Szamboti for your Efren dolly, or a mop for Mike Sigel. This is a multi-billion dollar industry just waiting to be recognized. Kevin may have sold his soul to the devil, but only so we could live in heaven.

That's because it has reached the best sellers list due to the informicialsls. The volume of books that would be sold just from books stores based on it's own merit or word of mouth would be almost nothing. I would suspect the book is self published.

I agree absolutely... and I'm also sure that KT paid good money to get the book featured so prominently in bookstores.

I hope that KT can buy some popularity for pool. The industry could use a healthy cash infusion.

Getting into Walmart would be quite an achievement, but actually staying in Walmart would be miraculous as Walmart runs their inventory very carefully and if product doesnt sell and sell ALOT it gets moved out of there in a hurry. I have a very hard time believing that pool DVDs, especially 165 of them will find much room and be able to keep that space in a place like wallyworld.

A thousand bucks??... somebody's gotta be jokin'... or delusional.

165 Accu-Stats DVDs would be over $4000.

I for one, would never buy a set of 165 8-ball matches since I could never look at all of them. I am betting though that select matches will be availble on a per match basis for a reasonable price per match.

Actually, if a product from a vendor does not sell then Wal-Mart sends it back to the vendor and tacks on a 25% stocking fee. In addition to insisting on 180 day payment terms.

But, if Kevin succeeds in creating a product that generates signifigant sales numbers then it is very likely that you will see the products in brand-name retial establishments. Direct Response is often the test-bed for many new products. Many well established firms use direct-response and chiefly infomercials to create awareness and sales of their products before taking them to the conventional retail outlets.

What I find interesting is that Kevin may be creating a new genre of television with the purchasing of airtime to show his live-action made for tv sporting events. I would call it info-tainment. He is taking a sporting event where the outcome is unknown at the start of the event, i.e, the action is real and not staged or faked, and paying to produce it and show it. So, he is creating his own compelling content with a real sporting event where he is the only advertiser. Full editorial control and the ability to advertise whatever products he wants to sell. Gotta love that. And he has enough different content that the viewers don't have to see the same matches over and over and over and over. Basically, a tournament can be shown in it's entirety during the space in between the next tournament.

I love the concept and just hope it's done well and if there is any real profits the players benefit beyond just prize money, IE a percent of sales for every one of the 150 member players. They can't just be playing for prize money they need some kind of guarantee. My fear is he will have so many matches in the can he can sell them for years to come and if the thing goes belly up the players that were involved will see him making money off their talents while they make nothing. I really want to see the players make money and not have to have it be a gamble.

If you can get your hands on one of the thousands of free CD recordings of the players meeting, you will hear about what sort of deal is in it for the players...especially the part about the 2007 season.

Is that what KT was telling you guys? He is in a fantasy land then, there is no way Wal-mart or Blockbusters buyers are wasting shelf space stocking a bunch of pool videos unless KT actually pays for the space, and probably not even then. If they do, just wait a short time and you will find them in the 1.99 cent bin to get rid of them because they won't sell enough to justify it. You have to deal in some kind of reality here. They may take a few but that would be it.
I don't remember KT saying he would fill racks with DVDs, but he mentioned they were in discussions with retail chains and video rental chains to develop video distribution.

If he's promoting availability at these outlets through his hundreds of broadcasts it is possible he will get very good listing deals with these outlets. They also know he is a guy who can sell.

KT is not your average trade expo marketer who struggles to find distributors, he has proven himself to be one of the best marketers in the world.

Bernie said that. It seems too many people have appointed themselves spokesmen for the IPT here. There is a lot of speculating and mis-information being touted as fact. Best left up to Deno to give the facts.

DVD Format???

Deno

Will the DVDs be "Region Free" so that they can be watched anywhere in the world (as the Accu Stats DVDs are) or are those of us outwith "Region 1" (aka North America and Japan) going to have to shell out for multi-region DVD players so we can watch them?

Oh, and (off topic) have you any plans to bring a tournament to the UK in 2007 or is it still to early to say?

Many thanks and best wishes

Why not just put it on the web site and everyone would not have to hear
he said/she said we would have Mr. Kevin said.

I think it's hard to justify spending 1000 dollars on dvd's when i didnt even spend that much on a brand new, built to spec, custom cue.....

maybe it's just me, but i just cant justify that

I'm with you BigRed,... I just can't justify it. Maybe if I win Powerball this weekend. I'll buy all the AZers a copy.
