This is the Rambow you want if you want a great Rambow that represents what he liked to make, and that won't break the bank. This Rambow design was so popular that Palmer created a duplicate of it but with Delrin (or similar) butt-caps - this one is ivory, probably made from an old cue ball. Green and purple plate veneers above the white butt-cap. Gorgeous specked Courtland linen wrap with age-appropriate patina. Rambow penciled the owner's name in his script on the forearm, along with initials on each shaft. Cue arrived in a beat-up plastic 2-part sleeve that is probably original to the cue. The tips are probably also original. I cleaned the better shaft using only magic eraser, then burnished and added wax - it now feels and plays great and there was minimal intrusion. The original tip on the shaft also plays good, but it's very old.
Fantastic used condition. The forearm is almost perfect, the linen wrap as well but with desired patina, the butt has some scratches and dings but is not bad, the butt-cap has some scratches and a hairline crack or two at the bottom but otherwise just looks great. Both shafts are straight but one rattles. Don't let the thin ferrule fool you - this cue plays lights out. The brass joint still has some of the original patina. You can EASILY clean the joint to have it look brand new, and a dark even patina will form within six months - I have done this plenty of times with Hoppe Pros, but did not want to change anything on this cue.
