1965 Sears Table worth it or not?

I have a 1965 Sears Championship home table. I got it for nothing and its in nice shape, appears it was never used other than a small tear in the felt. I put it in the corner of a spare room to practice my draw and stroke when I got got back into shooting. I'd haven't used it in over a year but today I took off the cover and was thinking of practicing banks but the bumpers along with the somewhat loose felt is original, close to 50 years old. I was wondering if it was worth redoing? My thoughts are I could redo the felt and bumpers myself for fairly cheap and there should be quite of improvement in play but I've have always played on slate so Im unsure. Im wondering is it worth redoing since its wood and not slate? It is level and its on the 2nd floor. I think if I could get the table to play as well as an okay to decent bar table I would be happy since its just to practice. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Sears only built disposable pool tables, start trying to tear it apart to redo it...and you'll see why its disposable;)

Not this one

This one comes apart easy and goes back together without a problem. I have the original owners manual that shows how to properly replace the felt and cushions. I took off one rail and put it back in a few minutes. I guess I'm just wondering if there will be a big difference with new tight felt on wood. I've never done it before.

Ok, see if you can find replacement cushions then, and with particle rails, watch out for them falling apart when you try to remove the cushions.

I'd guess that the cushions from a 1965 sears table are not available today for purchase. most likely the table is built with "fiber board/wood"
Expose the cushion by removing the rail, cloth and at the same time inspect the core wood of the rail.
IMHO ,> sears tables used cushions that was not standard on any table, place or planet.
Is the table a 8'? I might have some rails that will fit.

Thanks

Thanks for the help and advice guys. I know I can re felt the playing surface but the rails sound like trouble. It just a 7 footer. The ex wife got the house w the full basement.

Well here's another newbie question Could I buy this older looking bar table below on CL and hire a couple guys to transport it without having it disassembled other than removing the legs and replacing them when the get it to my place? I'm not up for spending more than $350 on a table w movers that will be a practice table pushed into a corner. I bet this is asking for a cracked slate. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and just get a new table.

Worth it or not? I vote for "OR NOT". It is just s suggestion but I recommend that you put it on craigs list and get something with a slate bed. Even for "just a Practice" table.
