1st Annual West Virginia State Pool Championships!

The 1st Annual J Pechauer WV State Pool Championships took place this past weeked and it was a great time for all involved! The 9-Ball singles took place Thursday with 47 players. Alex Olinger and Brian White met in the finals and Alex took the top spot and the $750 1st place money. Friday saw 58 players in the 8-ball singles. The finals came down to Lucas Hawkins and Chris Mitchell. Chris won the set and the $850 first place money. Saturday started the 4 person team event. The small but very strong field of 17 teams battled it out untill Sunday afternoon. The Almost hero's consisting of 9-ball champ Alex Olinger, Lucas Hawkins, Derrick Holloway and Brian White met The Schmidt Wanna'bs from Wheeling WV playing out of pro player John Schmidt's pool room. When the dust settled the Almost heros were the 1st Annual J Pechauer WV State Pool team champs. They took $1200 for 1st place. Congrats to all winners! I really appreicate all the help from my friends with out them i couldn't have had such a great event. We need to improve on some things and I willl make those improvements before next year. That would be nice to do a memorial event for Chan, I only met him once but he palyed jam up. I think his father still lives in WV if im not mistaken.
