2 ball turned almost black over time

I'm going to guess this table and balls are circa 1970. Brunswick Windsor 8 ft table my dad put in the house back then. The 2 ball should be blue but it's hardly distinguishable from the black 8 ball. The green 6 and purple 4 are a little darker than should be, but tolerable. Anything I can do to the 2 ball to bleach it? What about buying a substitute 2 ball, will that work? I have no idea of brand of these balls or what they are made of. Never have cracked though, in good shape.

edit: Only concerned about the 2 ball.

For recreational players I guess you could replace a few balls, but they are going to look a whole lot better and different than all the other older balls. I guess it would be OK for strictly recreational players, but for any fairly serious pool players, mixing balls from different sets would not be recommended.

One problem with mixing balls is that they aren’t always the same size. Even minor differences can make getting a tight rack quite difficult.

(I don’t take myself too seriously. I hope you can return the favor.)

It would help so see a picture of the balls you're talking about. And no, bleach will not bring it back to its original color.

All the best,
WW

Followup... I mixed up some bleach and water and got a couple of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Let balls soak for a few minutes. Stuff started coming off in the water, could see the stain appear. The balls turned kind of brown all over lol. Went to scrubbing, had to scrub a lot. And they came out MUCH better. Not sure bleach was the thing to use but it worked. I found this on a youtube. The blue, now I can tell it's blue lol. I have played a week on the balls, all is well. If I had a pool table light, the ball colors would be much better, maybe even normal. But wow, were they dirty. Never been cleaned, since 1974! Amazing how much crud can build up on there and you can't even see it.
