I want to say about the cue on the right. Its not a Szamboti. It was made in the mid 70's and IMHO it was fashioned to be a Szamboti. I met the maker in the early 2000's, he had switched to more CNC style cues. They, IMHO were cookie cutter CNC and we sold a few because Mark K and him were friends, but to me the cues were blahhhh. Anyways I believe had he stayed with the traditional designs, he would have a totally different level of appreciation by the cue buying public. He was rumored, (worse kept secret in cuemaking) to have assisted some Maryland cuemakers for a few years.
I spoke with him a few months back on the cue and he had some great stories, about cues, Balabushka, cuemaking, etc.. He has been making cues since the late 60's.
This cue is a mid 70's McDaniels, the screw is a dead giveaway as is the butt cap material. But this cue really plays great. Steve Klein did the restoration and shafts.
