Where did the shafts come from?

Are we sure they are TS shafts? Do they both roll straight? The diameter....13.5mm seems really big to me!? :)

in reponse....

Here we go again.....

Shafts were purchased for a player in Maine named Barry Herbert. He is the brother of Kerry Herbert who owns Spotshot billiards in Portland Maine. Barry orders his shafts special order from the cue builder. Tim Scruggs would have a reciept confirming all of the information given if needed.

Barry is known for only playing with 14mm shafts, (it really is a sight), and he uses the shafts until they get too 13.75-13.5mm. Then he sells them. I purchased two shafts in hopes of selling them to a player where I play at.....this person died and does not require them....I beleive Mike Webb can also confirm all of this including the names and specifics.

Everything i own is in perfect condition. Both shafts roll true and are as thick as any available, to do with what you please.

Check with Mike........I'm sure he knows, he has done work on all of our shafts for years at Joss Tour Events statewide.

I understand your concerns....please do not make more of this than it is.

Sorry to hear about your friend Greg :(

I would guess that they would have to be 5/16-14 threads. A little to fat for me but, the $125 seems like a pretty fair price.

Best of luck with your sale!
;)

I can't say 100%

But Timi never used the old grey rings in the collars. The ols Joss type rings he still has are white. I know because I had him make me a shaft for a old Joss cue with a ivory joint that had grey rings. Well Timi had to use white.
So there is a good chance the grey rings shaft is a Joss West. I think you should ask $300 for it.
The other shaft is not familiar to me at all. It looks like it is made well. If it is a Scruggs shaft it is a oldie.
Either way this info should help with the sale!

?????????????????????????????????????

Help me out, I can't see. Which shaft has grey rings, the one on the top or bottom? Could the rings be silver which appear grey because of aging, photography, etc.? Should he ask $300 per shaft or $300 for the pair.

IMHO the chances of both or one of the shafts being stock STROUD are slim, the maple block work is wrong. I think they are as advertised and a super score if someone has a BUTT with matching ringwork:)

Too bad they aint got plain black collars. I'd be all over 'em like Rosie O'Donell on a cup cake.

The bottom shaft looks like the JW shaft to me. They are quite sought after.

I'm not disputing that it looks like a JW shaft to you nor am I disputing that it would be quite sought after if it were.

I'm saying it's not and would be willing to make a friendly wager.

Pm me if you want action:)

If there is a differance between the two shafts I sure can't see it.

GLIBBY, are the collars the same???

Thanks in advance for your reply
