2 Types of Closed Bridges

Top instructors will tell you to simply rotate your bridge hand slightly in order to creat a tighter stroke. It makes the cue rub the meaty part of the hand between the thumb and first finger.

anyone who has to use a closed bridge to stop a wobblie stroke, needs to work on their stroke, its possiible to play run-out 9 ball with an open bridge on every shot except masse shots, I have friend who is a snooker champion and he never plays with a closed bridge.

You know someone who uses a closed bridge on MASSE' shots? Let me clarify -- I've never seen someone in a game of 9 ball have to use such an extreme amount of masse' (ala trick shots) that they have to use the closed bridge jacked up version. I've mostly seen just "veer around a ball" masse'. If you have to do extreme masse' I would think you're better off opting for a kick.

Look at Wu Chia Ching. Open bridge on everything and plays pretty darn good!

I must be strange. I shoot open bridge most of the time, but also use this Filipino/Archer style closed bridge very easily when needed. However, I absolutely cannot make this 'classic' closed bridge without it feeling too loose...
My fingers are simply too long and flexible, LOL.
