Starting Monday June 7th, Magic 8 Cue Club will be hosting weekly Monday night tournaments.

Check out the flyer for details. The race will be 4 on the winners, 3 on the losers. Based on 16 players, total prize fund will be $370. 1st will take home $220, 2nd $100, and 3rd $50.

Free practive starts at 6:00

There are not many weekly tournaments left in the area. Please come out to show your support for our sport and maybe take home a little cash.

Nice to see a weekly tournament.

Why the payout in pool tournaments have to be so top heavy all the time just ruin it.
Should spread the money out and make it a fun event instead of having a top player come in every week steal most of the money.

Instead of paying $220 for first place just pay $200 and give the other $20 to fourth place.

Maybe I'll be there to get that $20 for fourth place.:thumbup:


I already know I'm not good enough to get into the top three.:smile:
 
I'm always open to suggestions and I think that's a good one. I'll change it to 4th place getting their $20 entry fee back based on the 16 player field.
 
Correction from original post, the first tournament will be next Monday the 10th, not the 7th. Although if enough people show up tonight (as a few people have already showed up) we can have one tonight.

Just a reminder that we will hold our first Monday night tournament this coming Monday the 10th. Free practice will begin at 6 with the tournament starting at 7. Race to 4 on the winners, 3 on the losers.

As an added bonus and becasue it's our first tournament and would like a good turnout, I will add $100 this Monday instead of $50, with at least 16 players.

We've had quite a few players stop by this week to practice on the new felt.

Please come out to check out the new place and hopefully take home the cash.

$100 added (based on at least 16 players) 9-ball tournament tonight at Magic 8 Cue Club.

Magic 8 is located at 22 Church lane in Cockeysville. Free practice starts at 6:00, tournament starts at 7:00. Double elimination, races to 4/3.

If you don't have time to eat dinner before you come, don't worry, we have pizza, sandwiches, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and of course you can bring your own beer.

Total purse tonight with 16 players will be $420. Of course that will grow with more than 16 players.

Hope to see/meet many new faces tonight.
 
Mother nature tried to prevent the tournament from happening last night but she was unsuccessful. Although not the turnout we were hoping for, we still had a great time.

Congratulations to Shawn Jackson for going undefeated to win first place and poolguy4u getting 2nd.
1st paid $100 and 2nd $60.

I look forward to seeing you all next week and hopefully some more new faces. Tornadoes please stay away.
 
Fantastic! Just got your flyer in the mail. I've been playing there since the early 80's and was sad to see Johnny shut it down but business was pretty bad of late. The wife and i might stop by this afternoon for a few games.

Glad to see the flyers made it to their destinations. I'm hoping the advertising will get some new faces in here. Hopefully you have a chance to stop by if you haven't already.

As a reminder to everyone, our 2nd Monday night tournament will be tonight at 7:00. There's been a lot of traffic over the past week inquiring about the tournament so hopefully we have a great turnout tonight.

As always, I will add in $50 with at least 16 players. Free practice starts at 6:00
 
Successful second week with more players than the first week.

Congratulations to Sergi for taking 1st place undefeated. I got 2nd and Shawn Jackson rounded out the top 3.

Payouts were
1st - $120
2nd - $60
3rd - $40

Hope to keep increasing the field each week. More players equals more money. Every dollar from the entry fee gets paid back to the players along with money added with at least 16 players. There are no green fees.

Per players suggestions, moving forward we will play a race to 5 on the winner side and 3 on the losers. So far in the first two weeks, the tournament has ended by 11:15.

Thanks to everyone that has been been coming to play. Hope to see more next week. Until then.....
 
I posted a message on Tuesday regarding the tournament, not sure why it hasn't showed up yet. It said it had to be approved by the moderator which apparently it hasn't yet.

Sergi went undefeated for the win and $120.
 
Quick bump for the tournament tonight. Hope to see some more new faces today. Let try to get at least 16 players tonight so I can add $50 into the pot. Walk away with at least $200 for 1st palce.
