How does Charlie Williams get himself on the team three years in a row and on the Mosconi Cup team as well. There are other top players out there that are deserving.

If you look at the list of sponsors for this event, it's self-explanatory.

It's nice to see Mike Davis, a local from my area, receive an opportunity to compete in this event.

It is also refreshing to see two lady pros on the teams.

Connelly Tables is the title sponsor. I believe several years ago, it was Fury who was the title sponsor.

With no legitimate pool archives in existence for me to check, I am curious as to the history of the Patriot Cup. When was the first one, does anybody know?

JAM,
I think this is the third one. The first year, Lucasi sponsored the south team, and Fury sponsored the north. I don't remember who the sponsors were last year.

I agree that with both Archer and Morris, there may be a slight advantage to the south team this year....but it's 9-ball.....anything can happen!

Jennie and pooltchr... This is the Patriot Cup's third year.

I believe the first teams consisted of Corey Deuel, Mika Immonen, Rodney Morris, Allen Hopkins, and Tony Robles representing the North, and were sponsored by Fury Cues; and Buddy Hall, Johnny Archer, Nick Varner, Charlie Williams, and Tommy Kennedy representing the South, and were sponsored by Lucasi Cues.

my prediction ...

I think the South will rise again as long as Charlie
doesn't miss another 6 ball like he did in the Mosconi
Cup event.
